Kel thuzed wow. History of Kel'Thuzad. World of Warcraft quotes

Kel "Thuzad" is a lich and high necromancer of the Scourge, formerly an archmage and one of the members of the Kirin Tor.

Appearance

Kel'Thuzad's current appearance bears little resemblance to the charismatic elderly mage once known to the councilors of the Kirin Tor. The lich's imposing skeletal form seems to be shrouded in frost and malice, blue gleams fill the strangely shaped skull, and empty eye sockets sparkle with cold, pale fire. the body of a former mage more than two meters in height hovers ominously above the ground, leaving a trail in the form of a freezing cloud of frost. chest. The ceremonial headdress on his skull is reminiscent of the crowns of the ancient lords of Nerub. Several frosted chains are casually wrapped around various parts of his new body, their ends floating freely in the air.

Kel'Thuzad has always been considered a maverick by other members of the Kirin Tor due to his perseverance in learning the dark arts and, above all, necromancy. However, other archmages forbade anyone to practice dark magic. Hearing the powerful challenge of the Lich King from Northrend, frustrated by his short-sighted colleagues, the archmage began to communicate with a mysterious voice and realized that he promised great power and knowledge. mind, went to Northrend, to Icecrown.

For many months, Kel "Thuzad wandered alone through the icy desert. He passed through the ruined kingdom of Azjol-Nerub and was one of the first to understand the power of this ever-increasing force. Finally, the magician reached his final goal, the Citadel of the Lich King. Boldly approaching the entrance, he was shocked that the undead guarding her allowed him to enter freely - as if they were already waiting for him. The magician descended deep down to the base of the glacier, and, finding the Lich King among the ice and darkness, offered him his soul. The dark lord promised Kel " Tuzadu immortality and great power in exchange for loyalty and obedience.

Cult of the Damned

Ner "Zul was pleased with his new servant and gave him the most important task. After three years of wandering, Kel" Thuzad, on the orders of his master, returned back to Lordaeron to create a plague that would destroy the kingdom of people. However, unlike most servants of the Dark Lord, Kel'Thuzad's human appearance was preserved. The charismatic wizard could use deceit and persuasion to carry out his master's plans.

For three years, Kel "Thuzad used his wealth and outstanding intellect to create a secret brotherhood of his like-minded people, which he called the Cult of the Damned. He promised his assistants eternal life in Azeroth and universal equality in exchange for service to the Lich King. Surprisingly easy, more and more new men and women forgot about their faith in the Holy Light, becoming novices of the Kel'Thuzad Cult.

Having succeeded in creating the Cult of the Damned, Kel'Thuzad placed the plague of Ner'Zul in special artifacts called plague cauldrons. These cauldrons have been placed in many of the Cult's northern villages of Lordaeron, and have caused vast quantities of grain to become infected with the plague. Any person who tasted this grain died almost instantly and turned into a servant of the Lich King. His plan worked. More and more wild zombies appeared in the northern lands, and this army, called the necromancer Scourge, prepared for war with humanity.

rebirth

However, people did not sit idly by. The order of paladins, the Silver Hand, has become interested in strange reports of the appearance of the dead in the north of Lordaeron. The young paladin and the Prince of Lordaeron Arthas, his mentor Uther the Lightbringer and the young sorceress of the Kirin Tor Jaina Proudmoore, daughter of Admiral Daelin Proudmoore, took a small detachment of loyal people, went to study the plague of Kel "Thuzad. Their fears were confirmed - the mysterious plague did not just kill people, but turned them into undead. In addition, they discovered that necromancers were behind this.

The target of Arthas and his friends was Andorhal, the trading capital of the northern lands. When they reached the city, they found that it was on fire, and there were no inhabitants anywhere. There, Arthas first met with Kel "Thuzad and learned that this plague was his work. However, the necromancer disappeared before the paladin crushed his head with his hammer.

Arthas went north, and in a small town called Brill met Kel'Thuzad again. This time, the prince used his chance and killed the necromancer in a rage. Kel'Thuzad only managed to say before his death that his death now means nothing.

"Naive fool... my death will not change anything... in general. Now... when the conquest of these lands... has begun..."

However, Arthas himself later became a servant of the Lich King, a Death Knight, and, ironically, it was he who had to resurrect the necromancer he had once killed. Having defeated the remnants of the paladins guarding the remains of Kel'Thuzad, and capturing the magical urn in which the ashes of the necromancer were reliably protected from decay, Arthas went to the Sunwell of Quel'Thalas, the only place in which there is enough magical power to resurrect the creature. On the road, he was accompanied by the ghost of Kel "Thuzada, telling the truth about the Lords of Dread and about the true masters of Ner" Zul, the demons.

After destroying all the elves that resisted the army of the Lich King, and along the way, killing and reviving the leader of the elves Sylvanas Windrunner as a banshee, Arthas reached the Sunwell. The Death Knight lowered an urn with the ashes of a necromancer into its waters and watched as the reborn Kel'Thuzad emerged from the water.

The Destruction of Dalaran and the Call of the Lich King

The Lich King's further goal was to capture Medivh's Spellbook, with which Kel'Thuzad could summon Archimonde's eredar to Azeroth. Neither the magic of Archmage Antonidas nor the defense of Dalaran could withstand the power of the Scourge army, Kel'Thuzad killed Antonidas and took the great artifact. While Arthas defended the necromancer from the attacks of the remnants of the army of Dalaran, Kel'Thuzad performed the ritual of summoning the demon. The ritual was a success, but with the very first decree, Archimonde elevated the demon Tycondrus to the lord of the undead in Azeroth, removing both Kel'Thuzad and Arthas from control. However, the necromancer knew about the secret plans of Ner'Zul, and therefore calmly withdrew, without getting into an argument.

Arthas traveled to Kalimdor in search of a demon hunter named Illidan. Kel "Thuzad and Sylvanas remained in the ruined Lordaeron under the supervision of the Dreadlords. Returning, Arthas drove the demons out of the capital and freed the necromancer and the Dark Huntress. The Death Knight and Kel" Thuzad went to the mountains of Alterac, but Arthas felt unbearable pain. Soon, Ner "Zul appeared to him - the Lich King was losing strength and ordered his servant to immediately return to Northrend. The Scourge began to retreat quickly. Kel" Thuzad prepared everything for sending Arthas and escorted him to the coast. Arthas asked a trusted servant and "friend" - you don't often hear words like that from a Death Knight - to stay in Lordaeron and take control of the situation. Gathering the remaining Scourge forces, the former archmage made his way to the Plaguelands.

governorship

Left alone, Kel'Thuzad took a comfortable position - the Scourge under his control allowed the Forsaken of Sylvanas and the undead Dreadlords to compete for power and influence in the plague-poisoned Lordaeron. And now that the Dreadlords have disappeared, he ceded only the Tirisfal Plains to Sylvanas, leaving most of the Plague A land under his control, his almost impregnable citadel, the necropolis of Naxxramas, hovers over the eastern part of the former human kingdom.

Kel'Thuzad- One of the main servants of the Lich King, responsible for spreading the Scourge plague across Lordaeron. After being killed by Arthas during the era of the Third War, he was reborn as a lich. With the help of Arthas, he summoned Archimonde the Defiler, leader of the Burning Legion. However, Kel'Thuzad was truly loyal to the Lich King, not the Burning Legion. When Arthas traveled to Northrend during the events of the Frozen Throne, he left Kel'Thuzad as his lieutenant to command the Scourge in Lordaeron. Previously, he ruled the Plaguelands from the necropolis of Naxxramas, hovering over Stratholme, but now Naxxramas and, by extension, Kel'Thuzad are located in the eastern part of the Dragonblight, where he once again serves the Lich King.

Kel'Thuzad was one of the heroes in the Undead campaign in Warcraft III. In World of Warcraft, he is the final boss in Naxxramas, a raid dungeon that was introduced in patch 1.11. In World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, Kel'Thuzad can be Found in the Old Hillsbrad Foothills in the Caverns of Time.

Kel'Thuzad in World of Warcraft.

In the Lich King's haste to spread the plague of undeath over Azeroth, he gifted Kel'Thuzad, with the flying citadel of Naxxramas , a horrific base of operations for the Scourge. Consistent attacks from the Scarlet Crusade and Argent Dawn factions weakened the defenses of the floating fortress, enabling an incursion that led to Kel"Thuzad"s defeat.

Caverns of Time

In the old Hillsbrad Foothills near Southshore, in the Caverns of Time, you can meet Kel'Thuzad, still in the guise of a sorcerer.

Wrath of the Lich King

Inside, I bore witness to horrific acts, demonstrations of power, power that could be mine for the asking. Terrified, I ran...but did not get far. All too soon, my choice was made. Too late did I realize that such power does not come...without a price.

Now, the world shall pay a far greater toll, for I have returned.

I am Kel'Thuzad...

Your curiosity will be the death of you.

Conversation with Helcular

Kel'Thuzad meets Helcular in Old Hillsbrad Foothills, a dungeon in the Caverns of Time. He patrols main road between Hillsbrad and Southshore. In some places, he stops to talk to Helcular:

Kel'Thuzad says: Hush Helcular. There are many strangers here... Helcular nodes. Helcular says: So you can teach me this... this... Kel'Thuzad says: Necromancy? This is called black magic. And yes, it is in my power to give you this gift Helcular says: And the Kirin Tor? What did they say about this black magic? Kel'Thuzad says: It's none of your business Helcular, you're neither a member of the Kirin Tor nor a necromancer. Kel'Thuzad says: But to be honest, I don't care what the Kirin Tor thinks! They are fools, and there are many ways to establish this. Helcular says: Teach me, Kel "Thuzad. Teach me everything you know ... Kel'Thuzad nods. Kel'Thuzad says: In due time, Helcular... All in due time... If there is a captured animal next to them and is killed by Sally Whiteman and Renault Morgraine, then the dialogue will continue: Kel'Thuzad says: Well, Helcular, let me show you something to give you a taste for necromancy... Kel "Thuzad utters incomprehensible words. The dead animal comes back to life. Kel'Thuzad says: Do you see Helcular? Do you still doubt her strength? I control life! Kel'Thuzad says: And death... The animal dies again. Kel'Thuzad says: I'm still working on some minor details...

He is still seen wearing the robes of the Kirin Tor , but due to the nature of the conversation, it is presumed that he has already joined the Lich King, or was in the process of doing so.

little things

  • In the alternative timeline where Thrall died as an infant, Kel"Thuzad did not take up necromancy but instead became chief adviser to King Aedelas Blackmoore of Lordaeron. Without Kel"Thuzad leading the Cult of the Damned, the Scourge never grew in large enough numbers to be a threat and history turned out completely different.
  • Kel'Thuzad was voiced by Michael McConnohie in Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne and his original appearance in World of Warcraft.
  • Kel"Thuzad is voiced by a different (unknown) actor in World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, as Mr. McConnohie also portraying The Lich King and the producers thought this might "confuse the players".
  • Despite having a new voice actor in Wrath of the Lich King, Kel'Thuzad still uses his original laugh. This can be sometimes heard when he kills a player during his encounter. Those wishing to avoid a repair bill can fly to his location at the Plains of Nasam in southwest Borean Tundra , where Kel'Thuzad will laugh every 30 seconds or so.
  • Kel"Thuzad"s Gold Coin is an in-game item. The description says, "Sometimes... I wish someone would come along and just give me a big, long hug."
  • Kel'Thuzad was a wizard in the Warcraft RPG and a necromancer in the World of Warcraft RPG .
  • The Alliance warlock Tier 9 set is named after Kel'Thuzad. Though is he not normally classified as a warlock, Kel'Thuzad did learn a great deal about demons by studying the Book of Medivh (which allowed him to summon Archimonde).
  • He has a pet based on him, Lil" K.T. . Kel"Thuzad himself will mail the player the pet and congratulate them on joining his fanclub.
  • The Lich King drops Bloodsurge, Kel'Thuzad's Blade of Agony . The blade had no prior in-game appearances.
  • Nyorloth (creator of the WoW Story Forum and the Ask CDev project) seemingly confirmed Kel"Thuzad"s continued existence by mentioning that he has "survived two separate Lich Kings".

Kel'Thuzad is an archlich, one of the main accomplices of the Lich King, the last boss in the Naxxramas raid instance.

During the period shortly before the Second War, when Kel'Thuzad was still human, he was a member of The Supreme Council mages of Dalaran. Even then, he was known for his interest in the forbidden powers of necromancy, and when the Lich King sent out his mental call, Kel'Thuzad set aside all of his past and traveled to Northrend to face his new master.

Later, while on a mission to infect the town of Brill, Kel'Thuzad was exposed and killed by Prince Arthas. When Arthas himself began to serve the Lich King, Kel'Thuzad appeared to the prince in the form of a spirit and convinced him to resurrect himself using the Sunwell in the city of Silvermoon City. This was done, and Kel'Thuzad was brought back to life in the form of a terrifying lich.

Boss abilities:
On a note: The 10- and 25-man raid dungeon boss boss abilities are identical, but the boss's damage and health is much higher for a 25-man raid.

Phase 1
Kel'Thuzad is invulnerable and the raid fights the adds coming out of the seven pens around the perimeter of the room.

  • Soldier of the Frozen Wastes: skeletons going on a raid. If they reach their target, they explode (3-4k shadow damage). Affected by Shackle Undead. There are 71 skeletons in total, but more can be spawned by accident.
  • Unstoppable Abomination: Abominations that impose a -10% heal debuff on the tank. In total, eight abominations come, but you can accidentally or specially (to complete the achievement) fire more.
  • Soul Weaver: banshee, hits for 6-8k with dark magic and knocks back 30 yards. Does this only if it comes to a raid. 55 thousand hit points, going slow, eight banshees in total.

Phase 2
3 minutes 48 seconds into the fight, Kel'Thuzad himself takes over.

  • Frostbolt: a two-second cast that hits the tank for 10k-13k frost damage. Cast very often, and should be melee as a group if possible. Cannot be reflected.
  • Frostbolt (AoE) (Frostbolt): instant cast AoE frostbolts hitting everyone in the boss room for 4-5k frost damage. resists. Repeats the cast every 15 seconds.
  • Chains of Kel'Thuzad:

On a note: in the 10-man version of the instance, the boss does not cast this spell

The boss takes control of three people from the raid, increasing their physical size by 200%, damage by 200% and heal by 500%. While in this state, players buff and heal Kel'Thuzad and need to be controlled by any means humanoids are susceptible to. Lasts 20 seconds. Does not take control of the tank. Resets the aggro list of the boss.

  • Explode mana (Detonate Mana): debuff placed by the boss on a random mana-using player. 5 seconds after casting, the player explodes, dealing 10k arcane damage to everyone within 10 yards (but not themselves). Burns 2000 mana from the player himself.
  • Shadow Fissure: a red circle acting as a kind of exit zone. Appears around a random player in the raid, and after 5 seconds after the appearance, deals 60-140k shadow damage to everyone standing in a circle. Who did not run out of the circle, he died.
  • Frost Blast: puts a random player in the raid, as well as everyone within 10 yards of him, into an ice block. While in the block, the player cannot do anything and will take damage equal to 104% of their maximum health over 4 seconds. If the player is not healed within 4 seconds, they will die.

The effect will "bounce" over people within 10 yards of each other, similar to chain lighting.

Phase 3
At 40% of the boss's health, 2 adds appear - nerubian bugs. Each of them has the same HP as Kel'Thuzad. Every 15 seconds, the beetles place a buff on themselves that increases their damage by 15%. The buff stacks up to 99 times.

Reid runs into a circle drawn on the floor of the hall. After that, the encounter starts.

Tactics:

The fight is quite difficult, and differs from the rest of the fights in the instance with a large number of unconditionally lethal boss abilities: no matter how much health you have, if you or your healers do not work correctly, you will die.

Please note that none of these abilities are removed by PvP trinkets, ice block, Kosh or paladin shield.

There are three phases in the battle: during the first, the raid is opposed by adds coming from all sides, during the second, Kel'Thuzad comes out directly, and during the third, bugs come to the aid of the boss.

You will need three (Nax/25) or two (Nax/10) tanks - one will be the MT and deal with Kel'Thuzad, and the rest with the bugs coming during the third phase.

Phase 1 The raid stands in the center of the room, and various mobs are coming towards the raid from all sides - weak skeletons, abominations and banshees. Melee dps deals with the abominations, while ranged shoots the rest.

With 15 seconds before Kel'Thuzad becomes active, you need to quickly finish off the remaining adds and spread out so that the boss's potentially lethal abilities only hit single targets, not whole players.

Phase 2 The MT takes the boss and tanks him where he stands. Melee dps, depending on the amount, costs one by one (10 yards), or is distributed into several groups so as not to get into the ice tombs all together. Ranged DPS and healers spread out across the room.

In this phase, you have to keep track of everything at once:

Frost bolts: Melee knocks down all casts of the boss.
Mana Burst: Each mana user keeps an eye out for a debuff similar to the Arcane AoE icon. If appeared, then you need to run very quickly to a place where the explosion within a radius of 10 yards will not hurt anyone.
Void Zone: The very bright, spinning red animation of a Void Zone spells a quick death for anyone who doesn't exit. Especially dangerous in the miles, where people stand in a heap. We run out.
Ice Tomba: If a person is not healed within 4 seconds while hit by a block of ice, that person will die. Healers are advised to set up their UI to see the Ice Blast debuff on players' plates - this will help a lot.

In Nax/25, in addition to the above abilities, the boss also does mind control. At this point, the aggro resets, so you need to stop the dps and let the tank pick up the boss again.

Controlled people need to be polymorphed/cycloned/whatever to prevent them from healing the boss or 2-hitting anyone in the raid.

Phase 3 At 40% of the boss's health, 4 (Nax/25) or 2 (Nax/10) beetles spawn. The tanks pick them up and the dps race begins - the bugs get a buff that increases their attack power, and after some (not very long) time it will be impossible to heal the tanks under the bugs. By the third phase, you should be on all cooldowns, and the raid dps on the boss is required to be maximum.

All boss abilities from the second phase go to the third. It is possible that the tank of bugs will get into mind control, in this case, two tanks should stay close to each other in order to catch other people's adds.

The key to success in this battle is to carefully monitor what is happening around and have time to react accordingly. The boss doesn't have much health, and you'll probably have enough dps for the third phase if no one dies.

Sequel to Volume 3 of the Warcraft Chronicle. Of the younger generation of nobles, Kel'Thuzad, early years Thrall and the Cult of the Damned.

Young heirs

Despite the machinations of the Black Dragonflight, the human kingdoms slowly returned to their former prosperity. Even the fact that their ties were no longer so strong did not interfere with this.

Varian Wrynn, the young prince who managed to escape from Stormwind, destroyed by the Horde in the First War, is now king. He was known as a strong, just and far-sighted ruler. He oversaw the rebuilding of Stormwind and married a noblewoman named Tiffin Ellerian. They had a son, whom they named Anduin, after the hero Anduin Lothar, a revered general who died during the Second War.

High Commander Admiral Daelin Proudmoore, one of the generals who defeated the Horde at sea, still mourned the losses he had suffered during the Second War. With an iron hand, he kept order on the seas, pursuing pirates and robbers who dared to encroach on his lands. His young daughter, Jaina Proudmoore, was tired of her father's gloomy mood and chose to study in Dalaran. After a few years, she began studying arcane magic at the Kirin Tor and eventually became the apprentice of the legendary archmage Antonidas.

King Terenas Menethil II of Lordaeron had a son, Arthas, whom he decided to make a righteous warrior, bringing justice and punishing evil. Arthas Menethil mastered the art of the sword, having been trained by Ironforge's ambassador to Lordaeron, Muradin Bronzebeard. Also, the young man was trained in the ways of the Light of Heaven by the paladin Uther the Lightbringer. When the prince was nineteen, he was accepted into the Order of the Silver Hand and became a paladin. Although Arthas was headstrong and stubborn, he showed himself to be a brave hero who never shunned the most dangerous assignments. When the Amani trolls sent bands to the borders of Quel'Thalas, Arthas was one of those who pursued them and brought justice.

Arthas was often the center of attention in the Lordaeron court, especially when he was accompanied by Jaina Proudmoore. Their romance was a source of rumor and gossip, but in the end, Jaina preferred the arcane sciences, and Arthas focused his efforts on becoming a worthy king in the future.

They parted ways due to their personal ambitions, but never lost their feelings for each other.

Spider War

Far from the lands of men, the Lich King rapidly gained strength and increased the size of his truly terrible army. Most of the inhabitants of Northrend easily fell victim to the plague of unlife, and therefore the power of his army only grew steadily.

But it wasn't long before the Lich King faced his first real test. Northrend was inhabited by an ancient race of insectoids called nerubians who were incredibly ferocious in battle. Their grandiose underground kingdom of Azjol-Nerub extended into the far reaches of the icy tundra. The nerubians knew of the existence of the Lich King and could not allow him to enslave them. Any attempt to spread the plague of unlife in their lands was brutally cut short by the intervention of the nerubian leader, a powerful warlord named Anub'arak.

The Lich King found no way to break their defenses. So he decided to just grind the nerubians to dust.

The Lich King's undead army waged a war of attrition against the insectoids for several years. Each fallen became part of the Lich King's army, and when this slaughter came to an end, he took pleasure in resurrecting Anub'arak himself as a powerful undead minion. The former ruler was now a slave, and although he tried to break his chains, he could not break out of them and free himself.

The Lich King was so overwhelmed by the resistance of the nerubians that he borrowed them architectural style. He infused their jagged ziggurats with magic, causing them to soar into the skies above Northrend. Over time, the sight of these necropolises will begin to terrify all of Azeroth.

Now the Lich King's hold on Northrend was undeniable. And yet, the time has not yet come to unleash the plague of unlife on the Eastern Kingdoms. The addition of beings like Anub'arak to his ranks showed him the wisdom of corrupting the minds of powerful beings. He will need such allies to complete his work. Moreover, the Lich King secretly hoped to win these allies over to his side and use them to free himself from the Legion.

The Lich King sent his consciousness to different parts of the world in search of those who would succumb to the temptation of the power that he is ready to offer them. And several voices answered his call.

Kel'Thuzad

15 years after the opening of the Dark Portal

One of the most powerful beings to hear the call of the Lich King was one who had once been one of the leaders of the Kirin Tor, Dalaran's ruling magocracy. Kel'Thuzad was once a respected and revered scholar of the arcane arts. But in last years, his research shifted to the study of the dark craft of necromancy - the manipulation of life and death.

His deeds were not just condemned: they were under the absolute prohibition of laws almost as old as the Kirin Tor itself. He was repeatedly censured for these misdeeds and stripped of much of his official authority - he was already on the verge of being completely exiled from Dalaran.

Kel'Thuzad was enraged by what he saw as nothing more than the ossified conservatism and antiquated worldview of the Kirin Tor. Azeroth has recently been invaded by creatures from another world. Even Dalaran itself was attacked shortly after the Second War. They were Horde death knights, undead warriors with necromantic powers that had infiltrated the city. Kel'Thuzad saw them in action. He had no intention of leaving the opportunity to study their power, now he knew what he could do.

The Lich King offered answers to all his questions, as well as arcane knowledge of necromantic magic. He deliberately concealed his connection to the Legion, presenting himself as an independent entity acting on his own accord.

Kel'Thuzad complied. He refused to fulfill his duties in Dalaran and traveled to Northrend to witness the power of the Lich King. He saw the ruins of Azjol-Nerub, he met the ruler of Anub'arak. He even witnessed the horrors of the ziggurat of Naxxramas.

It was more than it could wish for. Kel'Thuzad briefly contemplated the possibility of flight, the Lich King's minions making it very clear to him that the time for reflection had passed. Kel'Thuzad would serve the Lich King, the only choice left to him was whether he would serve the Lich King alive or undead.

Kel'Thuzad was forced to come to Frozen Throne and accept his "reward". The Lich King promised that his loyalty would be rewarded in ways he never imagined. He ordered Kel'Thuzad to return to Lordaeron and gather an army of loyal followers. Subsequently, they will be called and spread the plague among the people of those lands.

Kel'Thuzad complied. His doubts were cast aside and he desired to serve the Lich King. The power he received from the Lich King was truly of divine origin.

When Kel'Thuzad arrived in Lordaeron, he looked like a saint, praying in hope to new deities. With demagogic speeches, he won the love of the mob, playing on their disappointment with the power of Lordaeron. He assured that he could remove the suffering of the oppressed, give hope to the hopeless, and lead all to immortality. Lies were easy for him. He saw the power of the undead. He was now bound to the Lich King and no longer feared death. He even dreamed of the day when he would get rid of the flesh mites and become more powerful in his undead form.

He had a different approach to the rich. He ingratiated himself with nobles and landowners and offered them power - and immortality - if they joined him. Some looked with suspicion at the "popular movement" that opposed the authorities, but Kel'Thuzad assuaged their fears. He said that the mob is not a threat, it is just a tool for the elite, which will destroy their enemies and increase wealth.

Subsequently, Kel'Thuzad gathered many under him. Very few understood the true horror of what awaited them. Only those in whom he was completely confident and completely turned to darkness were able to find out the truth about the plague and what troubles it would bring to people.

Over time, the followers of Kel'Thuzad became known as the "Cult of the Damned".

The headquarters of the sect was located in the catacombs under the ancient fortress of people and became known as Scholomance. Here Kel'Thuzad trained his most loyal students in the art of necromancy. Dark magicians quickly learned this art. They carried out horrific experiments, reviving the skeletons from the crypts of the fortress. Some necromancers sliced apart corpses and used the body parts to create mindless giants called abominations.

While these experiments were going on, Kel'Thuzad devoted himself to the most important experiment. He brought samples of the unlife plague from Northrend to Scholomance. He worked tirelessly on how to create a plague strain that was both effective and elusive. He planned to spread the plague throughout Lordaeron using grain. He wanted the incubation period to be long enough so that the first symptoms appeared as late as possible - in this way he would be able to infect big number people.

After many months of experimentation, he managed to do it.

Thrall

South of Scholomance, the Lordaeron Alliance continued to squander resources maintaining the prison camps. These camps were overseen by the nobleman Edalas Blackmoore, a veteran veteran of the Second War.

Edalas had a personal opinion about the camps - he considered his duties a burden, and the camps themselves an insult to the Alliance. His father, Aedelyn Blackmoore, became an outcast after betraying Lordaeron a few years earlier. Edalas believed that the rulers still see him as a "son of a traitor" and burdened him with this thankless job, which did not bring any glory.

But Edalas, like his father, was an excellent military strategist. He had a weapon that he believed could restore his former position in the Alliance...

Immediately after the end of the First War, Edalas happened to discover something amazing. He found an orc child in the forest, alone and abandoned, lying next to his slain parents and those murderers who died in battle with them. Edalas resisted the first impulse and didn't kill the creature right there, instead adopting it.

He named the child "Thrall" and trained him as a gladiator. One day, Edalas decided that Thrall would not be another dumb brute and began to teach him the art of strategy, philosophy, and the ability to lead others on the attack. He often put Thrall to the test, throwing him alone against several foes. Fighting pits were common in POW camps and the guards forced the orcs to arrange bloody battles among themselves. Edalas sent Thrall to these fights for more than just honing his fighting skills. Edalas liked to drink and bet on these fights. Thrall learned that his master was fickle, cruel, but nevertheless magnificent at times.

Edalas Blackmoore was a strategic thinker, complex and daring, but fatally tainted by drinking. He saw the captive orcs as a potential army and intended to make Thrall its leader - one who would remain loyal to his human master, of course. Edalas planned to overthrow the Alliance and reshape the human kingdoms in his own way. But his cruelty nullified any relationship with the young orc. Thrall did not see him as a foster father, but as a rude and cruel master who would never give him his freedom.

Among the people, Thrall had only one friend - Taretha Foxton, who considered him her little brother. She secretly corresponded with the orc, and when Thrall found himself in a desperate situation, she helped him escape from the camp.

Thrall managed to bypass the guards of Edalas and find his way to the nearby forests, having heard that some kind of orc clan was hiding there. The first one he found was Grommash Hellscream and the remnants of the Warsong clan. Grommash recognized him as an orphan from the Frostwolf clan and advised him to go to the mountains of Alterac, where he could find this clan.

When Thrall came to Alterac, he found the Frostwolves and learned from them the truth about his parents, Durotan and Drak. They steadfastly resisted the corruption of demons, and paid with their lives for their intractability.

He also realized that he had little in common with the orcs of the Frostwolf clan, and in general with those who remained in Azeroth. They were free and lived like orcs. Thrall grew up in captivity, he was different. Not a human, not even a despised orc. He was nurtured as an instrument of conquest and nothing more.

In order to reunite with the orcs, he must be able to understand who they were - and who he really was.

clan leader

Thrall had to learn the basics of being a proud orc. Most of his people rejected their shamanistic heritage, but among the Frostwolves was one of the orcs who was able to return them to their roots. Elder Drek'thar reconnected with the nature spirits and taught Thrall shamanism.

Thrall also studied with Orgrim Doomhammer. Meeting Thrall brought back painful memories, but his heart was lightened. Orgrim was a close friend of Thrall's parents and was convinced that their child died with them. The fact that he survived warmed the heart of the old warrior. Orgrim taught Thrall how orcs fight and, more importantly, how they live.

Yes, he was not brought up as an orc, but where and in what conditions he grew up gave him exactly what the Horde needed: a love of freedom, admiration for the nobility that the clans had lost, and a desire to see it all together again.

Thrall's optimism and calm confidence restored Orgrim's hope that the honor and pride of the orcs would be restored. He made the young orc his right hand. They allied themselves with Thunder Hellscream and the Warsong clan and began a campaign to free the orcs from their encampments. The lethargy of the orcs began to dissipate from the power of Thrall, in which there was a meaning and purpose, and with each liberated camp, the power of the Horde increased.

Orgrim Doomhammer fell in the battle to liberate one of the camps and, with his last will, proclaimed Thrall the new head of the Horde. Thrall accepted the massive Doomhammer and Orgrim's armor, and assumed the duties of the fallen Warchief. He wanted to completely destroy all the camps where the captive orcs were kept with one mighty blow.

The Horde marched towards Edalas Blackmoore's stronghold, Durnholde. Thrall suggested that Blackmoore surrender peacefully. Edalas responded by executing Taretha Foxton. Thrall and the orcs stormed the fortress and in a bloody battle, Thrall personally killed Edalas.

With the fall of Durnholde, the administration of the camps ceased almost immediately. The new Horde had no major problems in liberating the rest of the camps throughout Lordaeron. Thrall did not want to start a war against Lordaeron and instead led his people through the lands of the Eastern Kingdoms to find a place they could call home.

Alliance split

The destruction of the prison camps was a turning point for many in the Alliance of Lordaeron. Lady Katrana Prestor did everything she could to break the Alliance and urged every noble she could speak to with feeling. All orcs have fled. The money that was spent keeping them in captivity was wasted. What's the point of this stupid Alliance?

The high elves of Quel'Thalas were the first to leave the Alliance. The kingdoms of Gilneas and Stormgard soon followed. They always thought they were better off on their own, and Lordaeron's "incompetence" only confirmed that.

King Genn Greymane of Gilneas had his own ideas about how to stop the Horde - and other enemies - and protect his realm. His people lived on a peninsula and were surrounded on all sides by the sea. He formally severed all military ties with the Alliance and built the massive Greymane Wall in order to isolate the kingdom. It was obvious that he would not support other human kingdoms. Gilneas was self-sufficient and had little need for food supplies and resources from the rest of the Alliance.

Several kingdoms have declared that they are not going to let the Alliance fall apart. King Varian Wrynn of Stormwind, King Terenas Menethil II of Lordaeron, Kirin Tor, Admiral Daelin Proudmoore of Kul Tiras, King Magni Bronzebeard of Ironforge, Gelbin Meggakrut of Gnomeregan confirmed the agreement to unite against any enemy if necessary.

This did not please Lady Prestor. She hoped that the Alliance would fall apart altogether.

If the Alliance was meant to fend off external threats, then Lady Prestor decided it was time to stir up conflict within the kingdoms. Her covert meddling in the rebuilding of Stormwind has left the city's nobles dissatisfied with the work of the Stonemasons Guild. On the other hand, the masons were dissatisfied with the fact that the nobles delayed payments for honest work.

Lady Prestor played on both sides, urging them to stand their ground and not compromise until the disagreement turned into unrest. When the nobility said that she would not pay for the work, an uprising broke out.

In the chaos, the queen of Stormwind, Tiffin Wrynn, was killed.

King Varian Wrynn swore an oath to punish the guilty and hit the rebels with all his might. The masons fled their cities and hid among the farms and granaries of Westfall, determined to wait until things calmed down. Most had to hide, as they knew that Varian's anger would never subside.

Their anger, however, did not go away either. Led by a talented stonemason, Edwin vanCleef, they secretly supported Lady Katrana Prestor and created the Defias Defias. The Brotherhood's bandits continued their armed resistance to the forces of Stormwind for years.

Tirion Fordring and Eitrigg

The news that the Horde had been reborn had unexpected consequences. The first reaction was fear, but those who encountered the orcs said that they were no longer the blood-hungry and battle-hungry barbarians that the Alliance once fought.

One of those who said this was Tirion Fordiring, a paladin of the Order of the Silver Hand. He met an orc named Eitrigg and was sure that he sincerely wanted to live in peace. Then the paladin spoke out against the people who wanted to kill him. This was considered a betrayal and Tyrion was excommunicated from the Silver Hand. Despite this, Tyrion realized that he could still use the powers of the Light, which meant that he had done nothing wrong.

Eitrigg joined Thrall's new Horde. Tyrion lived alone for years away from human civilization.

Darkness's preparations

The Alliance had become smaller, Stormwind was struggling with internal conflict. The High Elves and the people of the Eastern Kingdoms no longer trusted each other.

The peoples of the world have become more vulnerable than ever in the last few years. Kil'jaeden finally whispered to the Lich King that the perfect time had come to unleash the plague of unlife on Lordaeron.

The Lich King was ready, as were his servants. In recent years, Kel'Thuzad and the Cult of the Damned have spread their influence throughout Lordaeron's granary, the Eastern Woods. The secret order had an influence on many important places, the most notable being Andorhal. The city was the main transshipment point from which grain was transported to all the surrounding lands. Any grain tainted in Andorhal would find its way to the far reaches of the Eastern Woods.

Kel'Thuzad and his necromancers have infected the city's grain stores with a plague. The people of Andorhal knew nothing of the dangers that lurked in the food supply. Not even all the cultists fully understood what they had done. The grain did not look spoiled. Only after eating it did the plague awaken and begin to act.

Merchants carried their deadly cargo in the usual ways, and innocent people used it for food. Several days passed when the first signs of the disease began to be seen in the villages that were located close to Andorhal. They began to complain of fatigue and fever, mainly young people and old people complained. The plague affected entire families. Whole villages.

None of the victims knew about the dark causes of the ailments, much less suspected that this was preparation for the invasion of the Legion.

At the same time, there was someone who knew what the demons were planning. His name was Medivh and he died a few years ago. His spirit roamed the edges of reality, and he saw the plague slowly creep into the Eastern Woods in a tide of darkness. Medivh wanted nothing more than to warn the world of what was coming, but he could not speak to the people of Lordaeron.

There was only one person on Azeroth with whom he could communicate, with whom he had a connection more powerful than magic.

That person was his mother, Aegwynn.

06-01-2020History of Kel'Thuzed (Stories)

original spelling: Kel'Thuzad
Gender: Male
Race: Undead
Character: Lich
Affiliation: Scourge
Occupation: Lich Lord of the Plaguelands, head of the Cult of the Damned, necromancer
Status: Undead
One of the most powerful Dalaran archmages (Archmage), a member of the Council of the Kirin Tor, Kel'Thuzad was even at one time a good friend of Antonidas (Antonidas). Ironically, their paths not only diverged, but put them on opposite sides of the barricades. Kel'Thuzad's interest in the darker side of magic made him an outcast among his fellow arcanists. And then the former archmage became a necromancer, a faithful servant of the Lich King. Using his talents and money, Kel'Thuzad founded the sinister Cult of the Damned and spread the plague of Ner'zhul throughout Lordaeron. Under his strict guidance, the Scourge was formed - an army of the undead, which later destroyed one of the strongest human kingdoms.

Showing his derision to the prince when he caught up with him, the former archmage played a significant role in setting Arthas on the path he followed. Even before his death at the hands of Arthas, Kel'Thuzad warned that his death would not change anything, which further annoyed the prince - his appearance in Stratholme was only a matter of time.
Killed and resurrected by the same Arthas as an immortal lich, Kel'Thuzad served as his trusted advisor and ally in the ensuing war. After Arthas left for Northrend, he remained in Lordaeron, in his citadel of Naxxramas, hovering in the sky above Stratholme, to watch over the army of the Lich King and the Plaguelands. His main tasks are to oversee the Scourge and the Cult of the Damned, instruct the troops, and report back to Arthas on the state of affairs.
Long research in Dalaran, access to ancient knowledge and the mystical influence of the Lich King led to the fact that Kel'Thuzad owns the spells of both the mage and the necromancer, as well as his own achievements, which he loves very much. Most of his personal developments are documented in his spellbooks.
Appearance

Kel'Thuzad's current appearance bears little resemblance to the charismatic, elderly mage once known to the advisors of the Kirin Tor. The imposing skeletal figure of the lich seems to be shrouded in frost and malice, blue reflections fill the strangely shaped skull, and empty eye sockets sparkle with cold blue fire. The elongated skeleton of the former magician, more than two meters high, hovers ominously above the ground, leaving a trail in the form of a chilling cloud of frost. The lich is clad in a rune-encrusted robe that does not cover his icy chest. The ceremonial headdress on his skull is reminiscent of the crowns of the ancient nerubian lords of Northrend. Several frosted chains are casually wrapped around various parts of his new body, their ends floating freely in the air.
Often, Kel'Thuzad carries around pouches of magic ingredients or his spellbooks.
Story
Archmage and his exile

When the Lich King reached out his consciousness to the south, his call was heard by several powerful individuals around the world, and one of such people was the archmage Kel'Thuzad of Dalaran. The archmage exerted all his considerable willpower to converse with the mysterious voice. In an effort to own all the dark secrets that the world of magic holds, he was frustrated by what he considered old-fashioned views and restrictive principles. Convinced that the Kirin Tor was too squeamish to wield the power and knowledge of the dark arts of magic, he decided to learn what he could from an unusually powerful stranger who contacted him.
As one of the senior members of the Kirin Tor, Kel'Thuzad was cautious and experimented from his northern holdings. But when suspicions arose, his laboratories in the northern lands were raided. The Kirin Tor were not too lazy to inform even King Terenas, and Antonidas (Antonidas) participated in the investigation. For insisting on the study of forbidden necromancy, Kel'Thuzad was recognized as an apostate among the magicians, and under the threat of deprivation of his position, possessions and exile from Lordaeron, he pretended to agree to leave his studies. Kel'Thuzad was sure that the disgrace he had fallen into, by the grace of the Kirin Tor, was unspoken - the consequences of opening this case to the public could be very costly for the Dalaran mages.
Dear Damned

Leaving behind his wealth and high position in society, Kel'Thuzad left the path of the Kirin Tor completely and left Dalaran forever. At least, that's what the magicians thought... Following the unceasing call in his mind, the archmage sold his vast possessions and hid his riches. He traveled alone for many leagues, both by sea and by land, and eventually reached the frozen shores of Northrend. The archmage sought to reach Icecrown and offer his services to the Lich King in exchange for forbidden knowledge. Passing along the way through the war-ravaged ruins of Azjol-Nerub, Kel'Thuzad saw firsthand the scope and brutality of Ner'zhul's power, but only realized it later. And now, after long months of wandering through the harsh polar desert, Kel'Thuzad has reached the dark glacier Icecrown - he did not dare to teleport into the unknown. Bravely, he approached Ner'zhul's fortress and was shocked when the silent demons of the crypt let him in, as if they were already waiting for him. The magician began to believe that apprenticeship with the mysterious Lich King could be not only wise, but also very fruitful.
In the citadel, he was met by Anub "arak, who personally led him through the ziggurat of Naxxramas and demonstrated everything that the King of the Dead had achieved. Only then did the disgraced archmage realize what he had gotten himself into. In horror, he tried to flee, but the ghosts overtook him and Descending deep under the cold earth, the archmage reached the bottom of the glacier and there, in a huge cave of ice and shadows, exhausted, he fell prostrate before the Frost Throne and offered his soul to the dark lord. too late for him, but at the same time he realized that the curse meant little compared to the promised immortality.
The horror that the Lich King inspired in him was great, but so was the benefit. Ner'zhul promised the disgraced mage not only immortality, but also knowledge, power and power, which is impossible to dream of. Saying goodbye to his past, Kel'Thuzad accepted the first major task of his new master - to become his envoy to the lands of people and gather a group of like-minded people. To help the archmage in this matter, Ner'zhul gave him the necropolis of Naxxramas and left his appearance intact.
Returning to Lordaeron, Kel'Thuzad set about founding a new religion that would honor the divine Lich King. The elderly but charismatic magician, using illusion and the skill of persuasion, began by initiating the most oppressed and disenfranchised sections of the Lordaeron population into a new faith. Using disguise, his condition and tenacious mind, over the next three years Kel'Thuzad gathered a secret brotherhood of like-minded people, which he called the Cult of the Damned. The cult promised its minions social equality and eternal life in exchange for service and obedience to Ner'zhul. And while the cult grew, the archmage did his best to keep the results of his labors a secret from the authorities of Lordaeron.
Scourge in Lordaeron

Having succeeded, Kel'Thuzad received a new order from his master - to deliver the plague cauldrons - artifacts in which Ner'zhul placed the energy of the plague - to Lordaeron. Here they were hidden in several villages controlled by the cultists and began to spread the Plague throughout northern Lordaeron. Led by the archmage, the cultists rejoiced at the opportunity to gain immortality and serve their dark master forever. Watching more and more of the kingdom's inhabitants turn into obedient zombies, replenishing the ranks of the Lich King's warriors, Kel'Thuzad named this army the Scourge, for it would soon be destined to wipe humanity from the face of Azeroth.
Kel'Thuzad's first encounter with Arthas took place near Brill, from where the necromancer fled to Andorhal. There, the prince overtook the sinister head of the Damned and killed him. However, according to Kel'Thuzad, it still didn't change anything...
After returning from Northrend, Arthas received Tichondrius' first assignment - to reunite the cultists and revive Kel'Thuzad. But when the remains of the necromancer were removed from the burial place, his spirit appeared to the newly-minted death knight and further guided him, repeatedly helping with advice during the invasion of Quel'Thalas. Arthas, leading the armies of the Scourge, overcame the fierce resistance of the elves and reached the Sunwell. There, he plunged the remains of the necromancer into magical waters - this defiled the Well, but Kel'Thuzad was revived, as promised by the Lich King, in the form of an immortal, much more powerful lich.
In the mountains of Alterac, Kel'Thuzad told Arthas both the Lich King's vision and the next part of his plan. Kel'Thuzad contacted the head of the Burning Legion, Archimonde, and reported on their success, who told them what they had to do. Following his orders, Arthas crushed the defenses of Dalaran, and Kel'Thuzad took possession of Medivh's spellbook kept there, with which he performed a lengthy ritual to summon Archimonde to Azeroth while the fallen prince guarded him from enemy attacks.
Feeling the Lich King's hatred for the Legion, Kel'Thuzad, like Arthas, did not participate in the further invasion, remaining instead in the Plaguelands. And, like Arthas, he learned of the Legion's defeat long before the Dread Lords remained in command of the Scourge in Lordaeron.
friend, governor, ruler

After Arthas seized control of the Scourge from the Dreadlords and, together with the Lich and Sylvanas, cleansed central Lordaeron of the last remnants of the living, the enraged Nathrezim staged a coup, seeking to overthrow the newly-minted King of Lordaeron. Arthas and Kel'Thuzad were separated from the capital during an attack by the Dread Lords of the dead, but the lich and his party managed to find their way out of the city on their own. He found the death knight just in time - he also escaped from the clutches of the traitors, but was ambushed by Sylvanas. After defeating the band of conspirators and frightening the ranger, Kel'Thuzad escorted the knight, who was ordered by the weakening Ner'zhul to return to Northrend, to the coast and prepared everything for departure. Impressed by his loyalty, Arthas called him a "faithful friend" - words not often heard from a death knight - and appointed him as his lieutenant in the Plaguelands until he returned.
Left alone, Kel'Thuzad positioned himself in a position where the Scourge under his control allowed the Forsaken of Sylvanas and the undead Dreadlords to compete for power and influence in the Plaguelands. And now that the Dreadlords were gone, he had ceded only the Tirisfal Glades to Sylvanas, leaving most of the Plaguelands under his control. From within his necropolis of Naxxramas, the Lich Lord plots and prepares to strike back.
Character
It is not known what remains of the former fighter with the "stagnant views" of the Kirin Tor to this day. Hardly a lot. Kel'Thuzad is devoted to the Lich King and does his will without hesitation. The former archmage is not without intelligence and cunning, which now allows him to play a subtle game that includes the Forsaken, the Scarlet Crusaders, and perhaps even the Argent Dawn.
The fight

Kel'Thuzad confuses and wears down his enemies by first summoning large groups of undead. Throwing various cold-based spells from afar, he is more likely to leave close combat and subsequent corpse feasting to his petty servants. Whenever given the opportunity, he uses necromancy and seeks to raise his slain enemies as undead to fight for him.
Kel'Thuzad especially treasures his personal developments. For example, his mana burst destroys the magical energy of his enemies, and then an azure-colored burst damages them. Using fragments of the Icecrown glacier captured from Northrend, he can unleash a shockwave of unstoppable cold that freezes opponents into ice until they can't even speak a word. And a spell he calls "Shadow Crack" uses drops of the old blood of sentient beings to create a dark, jagged rift at the enemy's feet, which then causes a massive explosion. clean energy arcana.
Chains of Kel'Thuzad

This is a specially crafted set of seven studded magical circuits that Ner'zhul bestowed on Kel'Thuzad. While active only while they are wrapped around the Lich's body, the chains move lazily back and forth in the air when they are not active.
Each chain has its own power. They only work together; if at least one of them is separated from the set, the whole set ceases to function. Once activated, the chains move at will until the master gives them some specific order.
Three of the chains from the set act as offensive weapons - moving independently of each other, they can independently deal damage to the enemy within a radius of 4.5 meters from Kel'Thuzad, even when he is on the move. However, at will, he can control them. Two of the remaining four can grab the enemy (also separated from each other and within the same reach), squeeze him and inflict cold damage, although such a capture somewhat limits the owner in movement. The sixth chain, wrapped around the wearer, enhances his physical protection, and the seventh, the thinnest of all and usually wrapped around the sixth, is resistance to magic. When a visible spell threatens the master, the seventh chain shoots out and seems to parry the spell.
The weight of the chains is about 32 kilograms.
