Monk Skills in Diablo 3. Diablo III Monk by Demoncoyote: Lightning Ninja Monk abilities and spells in Diablo 3

The release date for the weekly Theorycraft Thursdays has shifted again. Today, Monday, we will be discussing the Monk build called Demon Crusher.

Official Blizzard Quote ()

In our weekly series of articles, we have already managed to cover the development options for all classes, which means that it is time to turn our eyes back on the monk! Today we'll talk about the development option that was presented to us by the player Vaeus#1389 . Such a monk combines aesthetics and practicality, relying on area-based skills. So, ready to crush the demons with style?

About character development

Strength, beauty and speed - these are the concepts that first come to mind when we imagine this version of the development of a monk. These warriors have trained tirelessly for many years to master deadly techniques. They have achieved perfection of body and spirit in order to punish those who dare to challenge the one thousand and one gods of Ivgorod. Monks using the Vaeus build rely on their wits and prefer to deal elemental damage. They are able to deliver a series of unexpected and lightning strikes, as well as use other impressive techniques, leaving the demons of the Underworld no chance.

A distinctive feature of this monk is that he is able to turn an entire horde of opponents into a mess of limbs and entrails.

In terms of game mechanics, Vaeus primarily recommends using fire damage and area of effect skills and turning the monk into a "walking area of effect of epic power." Why throw fireballs at your opponents when you can become a fireball yourself? This monk is able to hit all enemies around him, thanks to which the player breaks through the ranks of enemies without much difficulty, enjoying the sight of their burning and exploding bodies.

Skills

  • Inna's mantra
    • The 3-piece bonus reduces the cost of Slashing Wind.
    • 2 and 4 item bonuses, if you manage to get them, can significantly increase survivability and damage dealt.
  • Bourne's defiance
    • The 2-piece bonus allows you to increase your stamina early in the game.
    • This bundle includes a weapon that greatly increases your damage output in the early game.
  • Captain Crimson's Clothes
    • This item allows you to reduce the cost of resources early on, while it can be quite easily crafted.
    • If you use the Insight skill, then Cooldown Reduction will be a very useful indicator for you.

Items that match the style:

Below is a list of items that are not so much useful in terms of game mechanics and combat capabilities, but fit the style of this development option. They can also be used effectively as an alternative to the recommended items listed above if you haven't managed to get them yet.

  • Eight Demon Boots
  • Mantle of the Inverted Sinners
    • The 2 item bonus is very useful.
    • Perfectly emphasizes the fact that the monk devoted his entire life to fighting demons.

The main indicators to pay attention to:

The main thing you want to focus on is "+% Fire Damage" as it increases the damage of all your skills. In addition, it is worth increasing the chance of inflicting a critical strike in order to increase the damage dealt and to more effectively use the Evasion Mantra skill with the Feedback rune. “Resource cost reduction” is also a very important indicator, since this monk consumes a precious supply of spirit very quickly.

Vaeus is currently using this progression on Torment II difficulty on Normal. It's not easy to play as such a character on this difficulty without the Ashencoat, but once you can get this and some other items, the initial stage of the game will become noticeably easier. And by following Druin's tips above, you can make the monk even stronger and, having obtained the right equipment, you will feel comfortable on the Torment VI difficulty level.

What we liked about this development

First of all, I am attracted to development options, the authors of which take into account even the smallest details. Vaeus worked appearance his monk, took into account what the equipment looks like and the graphical effects of skills, thought out the reasons why he uses certain skills that are perfectly combined.

It seems to be a bit hot in here... Oh, wait, I set them all on fire!

Fire damage is currently one of the most effective ways to destroy opponents, but it is not very associated with monks, especially considering the recent changes related to the Robes of a Thousand Storms and Outfit of the Monkey King item sets. Also, Vaeus very interestingly described his monk as a "walking area spell". This development option fully corresponds to this description, and in addition, it is interesting to play for it.

What do you think of it?

What type of elemental damage does your monk use? How would you change the presented development option? Are you aware of any legendary items useful for our Demon Slayer that wasn't mentioned in this article? Let's discuss it in the comments!

Next week we'll be talking about the barbarian, so if you'd like your build to be featured on the front page of the site, you should send it to me! You can send your development option to [email protected], and on this page you can find out what information about your character you need to provide.

Affix - affix - a characteristic of an object, monster, etc., for example, + dexterity or fast (for monsters), etc.
DPS - Damage per Second - damage per second, i.e. how much damage you deal to monsters
APS - Attacks per Second - attacks per second, i.e. number of beats per unit of time
LoH - Life on Hit - life per hit, i.e. how many health points are restored for each hit
AoE - Area of Effect - area of effect, this is a general term for effects, skills, spells and abilities that affect vast areas and those who are in this area, that is, many targets
DoT - Damage over Time - damage over time, i.e. various skills that are applied to the enemy and cause damage not immediately, but over a certain period of time

Changes in patch 1.0.3

Reduced the attack speed affix on items by half, however, this is still a very useful characteristic.
- Whipping Wind / Raging Blades (Sweeping Wind/Cyclone) and the cumulative damage bonus from critical hits is what we need. Rune Raging Blades (Cyclone) gorgeous.
- As ridiculous as it may seem, one-handed + shield set is still the best combo, even for high DPS. This is all thanks to the fact that shields can have an affix of up to +10% to critical strike chance.
- Pretty much any monk's primary skills except Fists of Thunder are very slow. The Deadly Reach skill is not bad, but only if you have >2.0 APS;
- After patch 1.0.3, the Crippling Wave skill was removed from the guide, since it is not able to generate enough spirit to use the passive skill Rebirth (Transcendence) ;
- Protective characteristics as always have a decisive influence, it just became a little easier after the patch.

So, here we have 3 active and 3 passive skills, as an unshakable foundation. The choice of other skills depends on your equipment, the chosen act, how suitable your equipment is for this act and, of course, on your personal preferences. Next, I will list options and additional options, and I will also share links to ready-made Monk builds at the end of the chapter.

Primary Skill

Fists of Thunder / Clap of Thunder (Fists of Thunder/Thunderclap): This the best choice, and it's perfect when we don't need extra protection. High Spirit regeneration, high LoH modifier values (because LoH also adds health points during the rune trigger Thunderclap (Thunderclap), in addition to the main attack), as well as teleportation, as a result, the best DPS. This is a particularly interesting option after the attack speed cut in patch 1.0.3, and also the best choice in terms of hit animation speed.
Touch of Death / Keen Eye (Deadly Reach/Keen Eye): This is a choice for our defensive build, and although you won't be able to become a ranged class and avoid damage, it will allow you to avoid being attacked by a lot of monsters at the same time, so you won't be surrounded and you can easily avoid AoE and monsters, for example with fire chains. Run back all the time when attacking and try to find a place where the monsters get stuck, or hit them through the wall (where possible). The negative side of this choice is the speed of the animation of the skill, due to which you lose a lot of damage. Also, if you are relying on the LoH effect, then this is also a bad choice. Yes, and the regeneration of the spirit is reduced, in comparison with the Fists of Thunder (Fists of Thunder). In general, if your post-patch APS is less than 2.0, don't go this route.

Utility Skill

Slashing Wind / Tornado (Sweeping Wind/Cyclone): With enough crit chance (20% or higher) this combo becomes perfect. Thanks to good performance character, you will constantly have many cyclones that will inflict several attacks before they disappear, and maybe more if they run into walls or other obstacles. This choice will work even when using Deadly Reach, as monsters will often fall within the range of the skill.
Slashing Wind /: Also a good combination, the best choice for dealing maximum damage if you don't have enough crit.
Slashing Wind / Firestorm (Sweeping Wind/Fire Storm): This is your choice if you settled on Death's Touch with the Deadly Reach/Keen Eye rune and you have low critical strike chance for Cyclone. You'll need some extra space as Touch of Death is quite a ranged attack.
Powerful Dash / Faster than the Wind or Rune Lightning (Dashing Strike/Blinding Speed or Quicksilver): The choices given give you something that you don't get when choosing the Deadly Reach feat as a basic attack and it's a dash that gives you extra control. 25 spirit points doesn't really mean anything considering the amount of control this ability gives. Obviously, this is a great choice for a defensive style of play.
Deadly Reach / Foresight (Deadly Reach/Foresight): great rune damage bonus foresight for 30 seconds, in fact, this is another passive skill that gives us 18% damage. In addition, if you also take the Slashing Wind skill with a rune Sweeping Wind/Blade Storm, we get just a huge increase in damage. Thus, we will have something to counter the groups of rare monsters that are difficult to deal with in close combat. With two active skills and Deadly Reach, we can switch between two playstyles, depending on the affixes of the rare monsters that come across on the way. It is also worth noting that for amplification from the rune Foresight there is no corresponding indicator, only a green glow around your character and a DPS increase in the "Details" tab, do not forget to check that the increase is active.

Mantra

Mantra of Evasion / Die Hard (Mantra of Evasion/Hard Target): Always use this combo when going through a new act or having trouble. The dodge bonus builds up in a progression, so don't worry, there is no diminishing effectiveness from increasing the parameter.
Mantra of Condemnation / Reverent Horror (Mantra of Conviction/Overawe): If you can survive without Evasion Mantra, turn on this mantra. This is the first thing you should do when you feel that there are no survivability issues and you can safely farm a particular act. The amount of damage from this mantra is simply huge.
Mantra of Evasion / Backlash (Mantra of Evasion/Backlash): If you feel confident in the current act, but when you switch to option 2, you are not able to comfortably survive, try this combination. Rune Damage Responsiveness very good, excellent combination of damage / survival.
Mantra of Condemnation / Submission (Mantra of Conviction/Submission): the reason why I single out this bundle is of little significance. This skill is heavily tied to attack speed (not like Slashing Wind), not that impressive. After the attack speed cut, there is even less reason to try this option. See the link in the note for details.

Other options/notes

Combination Peace / Peaceful Repose (Serenity/Peaceful Repose) maybe better than rune Ascension, if you are just starting Inferno and have weak stats. However, this stops working after the first Act.

If you accumulated resistances incorrectly and they are all about equal without the passive, don't use that passive. Put better Transcendence until you get the right set of resistances. But keep in mind that you will need enough resistances to move into Act 2.

Rune Faith in the Light for the skill Blinding Flash increases damage by more than 30%, and for some reason this amount depends on APS. So if you have APS => 2.0, damage is increased by 60%! And this is not a mistake in the notes, but verified information during the game tests. See note.

Ready builds

Standard variant with Fists of Thunder and Cyclone
Deadly Reach variant (if you have low crit chance)
Variant without the passive skill One with Everything (if you have weak equipment)

Items

Attack

The most common mistake is not getting enough damage. Damage is everything. Is always.

Critical Strike Chance can be found on the following items:
- Shields (up to 10%)
- Gloves (up to 10%)
- Amulets (up to 8.5%)
- Bracers (up to 6%)
- Helmets (up to 6%)
- Rings (up to 4.5%)

Critical Damage Boost can be found on the following items:
- Weapons (up to 100%). And if there is also a socket, then by inserting an emerald (emerald) we increase it by another 100%
- Amulets (up to 65%)
- Gloves (up to 50%)
- Rings (up to 34%)

Attack Speed Boost can be found on the following items:
- Weapons (up to 11%)
- Amulets (up to 9%)
- Gloves (up to 9%)
- Rings (up to 9%)

Expecting your question, I will say right away that the priority is on the probability of a critical strike, critical damage is in the background. Obviously, critical damage directly depends on the probability of a critical hit. But there is another factor - the operation Tornado (Cyclone), Crit Chance increases the number of skill procs, while Critical Damage does not. Don't forget that Tornadoes are a great damage boost, no matter what the tooltips say. Remember this.
Rings is the last slot you will be upgrading, replacing attack speed with crit chance/critical damage. Or you won't even improve, depending on what you have now and what your budget is. Either way, Rings can have a much lower Critical Hit Chance than other slots for a similar maximum Attack Speed stat. It is also worth noting that rings can have all three of these characteristics at once. Act according to the situation.

Defense

The best choice in defensive stats is their balance, in almost any game. Never pump over any one characteristic. It's not very good when you have low health points and a lot of resistances, similarly, a lot of health, but low resistances. It's also not efficient to have a large LoH modifier and very low health, so you just get killed as soon as you stop attacking. And don't forget that you stop taking damage as soon as the enemy dies, so best defense It's an attack, as always. You don't need a lot of defensive stats, just enough to survive.

And I will immediately answer the two most common questions:

Absolute Harmony (One with Everything) works like this: if you have the highest Arcane Resistance and you come across an item with +50 Arcane Resistance and +50 All Elemental Resistance, then the total resistance bonus you get from that item equals +100
LoH triggers on any direct damage. Auras and DoTs do not work, but all AoE damage allows you to receive health points from each target in the radius. For example, if you hit with Fists of Thunder and the rune procs Thunderclap (Thunderclap) damage hits the main target and 5 nearby targets, total LoH will trigger: 1 time from hitting the main target with Thunderfists, 1 more time from hitting Thunderclap (Thunderclap) on the main target + 5 times from the same rune skill on 5 nearby targets. Total: 7 positives per hit. However, the LoH modifier is calculated differently depending on the skills used (see table link in note)

EHP (effective health) calculator

Priority of item characteristics by slots

Weapon: DPS, LoH (Life on Hit), socket, critical damage, weapon type, attack speed, agility, health points per Spirit spent, Vitality
Weapons are the only slot that can have a high LoH modifier. But there is no such thing as "LoH build", there is just "Weapons with LoH".

The weapon's attack speed is multiplied by the total attack speed modifier on items, so there's nothing wrong with a weapon with an attack speed affix, contrary to popular belief. There is a difference in base attack speed depending on the type of weapon selected: Dagger (1.5) > Sword/Fist Weapon (1.4) > Ax (1.3) > Mace and Spear (1.2).

Emerald, socketed, gives an increase in critical damage, amethyst increases LoH. Even those stones that are available without a separate recipe are very good: Star Amethyst and Star Emerald

Only Fist Weapons and Daibos have the affix to health regeneration at the cost of Spirit.

Shield: Block Chance, Damage Blocked, Critical Chance, +% Block Chance, Agility, Resistances, Vitality, +% Health, Damage Reduction from Special Monsters/Melee/Ranged Attacks.
When choosing a shield, pay attention to the block probability and the amount of damage blocked - these parameters can vary greatly, although this is not so noticeable at first glance. The amount of damage blocked is the amount of damage that remains after the armor and all resistances are gone, something to think about. Choosing a shield is almost the same as choosing a main weapon - block probability and amount of damage blocked are the main parameters, like DPS on a weapon.
Amulets: , attack speed, LoH, agility, resistances, survivability, +% health, damage reduction from attacks of special monsters / melee and ranged attacks.
Amulets can have relatively high LoH modifier values, some of the best ones come with values around 600.
Rings: attack speed, critical strike chance, critical damage, LoH, Agility, Resistances, Vitality, +% Health
The main priority for me is attack speed, simply because it is easier to find than crit. The value of the LoH modifier on rings is negligible.
Helmet: , socket, agility, resistances, health points per Spirit spent, vitality, +% health, Monk skill bonus
The socket in the helmet will come in handy for the amethyst, which increases health by 15%. I think this is important enough, but you can do without a nest if you already have about 30-50 thousand health.

Also on the helmet can be quite interesting bonuses, if we are talking about class skills - up to 11% bonus damage to any primary skill. But do not overestimate this affix, because. it won't get any better than 100 dexterity. Skill bonuses like this and the health gain per spirit spent modifier are only found on Spirit Stones.

Belt: Agility, resistances, survivability
In general, this is an ordinary armor slot, unless you take into account the legendary belt - Belt of Ears (String of Ears) . One of the permanent affixes of this belt is melee damage reduction, up to 20%. However, this is a level 53 item and other stats are rather poor, moreover, the predefined affix of +10-20 resistance to all elements also makes this item unpromising. good item Level 61+ in terms of effective health will be better than the Ear Belt, even in close combat (you can compare in the calculator on the link above).
Gloves: critical strike chance, critical damage, Attack Speed, Agility, Resistances, Vitality

Bracers: critical strike chance, Agility, Resistances, Vitality, Melee/Ranged Damage Reduction

Shoes: movement speed, Agility, Resistances, Vitality, +% Health

Chest Armor: Agility, Resistances, Vitality, +% Health, Sockets (up to 3), Damage Reduction from Special Monsters/Melee/Ranged Attacks

Pants: Agility, Resistances, Vitality, Sockets (up to 2)

Shoulders: Agility, Resistances, Vitality, +% Health

Some features of the above list: the order of the characteristics given in the list is a priority, but you should not completely adhere to it. The game is primarily about balance, and the choice depends on your style of play and the specific act. There is no single correct solution, each situation requires a different approach, so you have room for thought.

I skipped jewel sockets because there is always a chance for a better stat, I think.

Note

Once again, because an indispensable thing - an EHP (effective health) calculator
- Table of LoH values for Monk

Here you will learn everything you need to know to play this build at the highest level. This build is updated for patches 2.6.6 and Season 18.

Do you want new builds? Share them with social networks, this gives impetus to the development of our site.

1. Introduction

Previously stuck in a group-only DPS support role, the sunwuko set received a fix in patch 2.4 to a viable state in solo. With the help of this fix and the help of a few revised items, the Season 2 Champion Lightwave Monk reappears in a new form. This rhythmic, steady, stylish playstyle is perfect for both solo VP and farming Nephalem portals.

The entire build is based on the Sunwuko Monkey King Set, which provides the following bonuses:

  • Damage taken reduced by 50% while Slashing Wind is active (2/6)
  • Slashing Wind spawns a decoy near an enemy hit by the Monk. The lure calls nearby enemies and then explodes, dealing 1000% damage for each stack of Slashing Wind currently active within 10 yards (4/6)
  • The damage dealt by Dragon's Tail, Storm's Swiftness, and Wave of Light is increased by 1000% for each stack of Slashing Wind the monk currently has (6/6)

The Sunwuko Set when combined with the Vengeful Wind legendary fist weapon increases the damage of Wave of Light by up to 10,000%. This, combined with all the items listed, makes for one of the strongest damage dealing abilities in the game. It is further enhanced by the use of the rings Bulwark of Will. Your main attack is also used to create an additional spirit, and to reduce damage thanks to the Spiritguard Bracers.

Sunwuko's build is fairly easy to play. All you have to do is conserve your Slashing Wind stacks (simply stocking them up once you start Great Portal) and use Wave of Light against your enemies. You need to increase your durability with the help of your passive skills and items such as Sixth Sense, Harmony, Seize the Initiative, Mantra of Salvation and others.

2. Quick reference

2.1. Skill setting

Below is the basic setting for Sunwuko's Light Wave build skill. Read the Specialized Skills page for details on choices, alternatives, and customization creation.

3. Build

For solo VP

3.1. Assembly

3.2. Required Legendary Stones

3.3. Items Cuba Canai

4. Role in the current meta

This build is considered the strongest Top Tier for its class in the current season.

It is focused mainly on the solo passage of portals (Great and Normal). Due to mediocre mobility over long distances, she is not recommended for farming errands.

5. Assembly base

The build includes five of the six available pieces of the Monkey King (or Sunwuko) set, complete with an item from the Ring of Royal Opulence cube for full bonuses. On roll, this Wave of Light setup uses resource cost reduction and skill damage reduction bonuses centrifugally. RCR is desirable for Sunwuko balance along with high strength values; Double Critical stats plus high Dexterity and RCR are optimal for Sunwuko Lap. Spirit of Sunwuko and Leggings of Sunwuko are pure durability slots. An ideal option would be Sunwuko's Glitters, which include double crit stats and fire damage, as well as a guaranteed socket.

When it comes to jewelry, you have to take into account the need to wear Sunwuko Sequins, which makes it impossible for you to use the Endless March set. With the fixes in patch 2.6.1 (increased damage reduction from Spirit Guards and removed the stack consumption mechanic from the Sunwuko set), you have a big incentive to move the spec into Focus and Temperance, greatly increasing your damage potential at the cost of minimizing range and having to generate an attack .

Instead of the Crown of Sunwuko, you need to take the Gaze of Tzo Krin, which is a Spirit Stone that turns a wave of light into a weapon. With the 2.4 update, it becomes a must-have for Waves of Light builds, as it increases the Wave's damage up to 150% as a free fifth affix.

The best belt to build when going through the Great Portals is the Witching Hour. This is the only item in the slot that can grant Attack Speed and Critical Damage. Both stats are very useful for your damage, so try to get an ancient item with stats for 7 attack speed and 50 critical damage.

Added in patch 2.4, this is a special wave bracer that doubles as a damage booster and crowd control tool, slowing enemies by an impressive 80% when hit in a column. While helping to keep enemies at bay, it also grants compatibility with the Curse of the Captive.

Very basic boots naturally match build resources, doubling your Mystic Ally summons, thus increasing effectiveness. ally in air up to 8 spirit per second and 200 spirit per activation. Note Wave of Light is a possible bonus, so try to get it as your fourth main stat along with stamina.

Kyoshiro's blade is important element in the Waves of Light setting, which increases the skill by another 150%, and also increases your damage when fighting 3 or fewer enemies, indispensable against champions and Portal Guardians. Your other weapons will vary depending on the content: in the Greater Rifts, it will be useful for you to turn on the Wind of Vengeance in order to expand the explosion potential coming from the Sunwuko set.

6. Paragon Points

7. Legendary stones

Curse of the Captives is a powerful source of additional damage, as it is its own multiplier in the overall damage calculation. This gem will easily work with the slowing property of Pinto Bracers.

Ze'ev Stone of Vengeance is another independent multiplier that scales with range, which can be easily maxed out thanks to the long reach of Tzo Krin's Gaze Light Wave. A level 25 property will add some minor control and security to the build. An alternative for this slot, if you're opting for a more defensive and close playstyle (at the cost of some of your damage potential), is the Esoteric Transformation slot here.

Introduced in Season 4, Curse of the Lost is the third and final item in VL's jewelry slot. Accumulating its damage multiplicatively in long fights and with a level 25 bonus specifically for Portal Guardians, this gem is meant to help AoE-heavy builds in their fight against single target, high HP enemies. Wave of Light Monk performs better than most builds in single target situations, but still benefits decently from precious stone this is a testament to its quality.

8. Kanai Cube

When passing through the Grand Rift, the weapon slot will be the Great Temple Incense Torch, as its resource cost reduction bonuses soften Wave of Light's limiting cost.

Buffed in patch 2.6.1, the extracted power of the Spirit Guardians is a big part of the reason Lightwave structures can go into a full damage build. By regularly attacking with a spirit generator, this legendary power will more than double your incoming damage.

In the jewelry slot, you will use , the Legendary Ring of Mystery from the Act I reward. Collecting Sunwuko and Krin's set bonus, while dodging the unwanted guaranteed royal opulence stats, is a huge speed up to build.

Update: This build has been updated to patch 2.6.5 and season 17, many sections have been added to it where all aspects of the build are considered.

9. Rotation

The build begins with Slashing Wind, whose stacks determine Sunwuko's damage and defense bonuses. Use Power Dash to seek out and draw the attention of groups of enemies, then begin alternating attacks with Wave of Maim and Wave of Light . While you'll keep less threatening enemies in your melee to keep up with the generator's attacks, take your placements in Wave of Light even farther away to maximize Zeev's Vengeance Stone bonuses. When you encounter thorns, recite your Salvation Mantra Agility for extra durability. To feed this spirit-hungry rig, you will use the passive skill Tidal Wave plus Maim Wave regular attacks, but as soon as the resources drop below, you must activate Air ally for instant resupply.

10. Skills, Runes and Passives

The build's main damage is Wave of Light. This strong ability is among the skills that benefit the most from patch 2.6.1, gaining damage multipliers from the updated Sunwuko set, Krin's Gaze, Pinto's Pride, Kyoshiro's Blade, and the enhanced Temple Aroma Torch. Preferred Fire Rune explosive light; although it is mathematically weaker than other runes, it covers a wider area and translates into the highest amount of damage per unit of spirit points spent.

Even with the reduction in the resource cost of the Aromatic Temple Torch, spamming Waves of Light will still take a toll on your Spirit reserves. A significant portion of your build and gear choices will be focused on reducing or reimbursing spirit costs in this setup.

Recommended Generator Skill to Build - Wave of Maim combined with Defensive Rune Tsunami. This rune will reduce incoming damage from enemies for a second in a generous 17 yard radius. It also serves as a valuable proc for half of the Focus and Temperance bonus generator. Last but not least, it grants 12 spirit per attack.

Slashing Wind is an integral part of Sunwuko's customizations, as it reduces damage taken while active, and its stacks determine the damage increase. While critical to have on your bar, the damage value of a particular rune is irrelevant; considering utility, take the inner storm for 8 spirits per second.

With both a passive and an active component, the Mysterious Ally will also help your spirit thirst through the rune Air ally. By doubling the amount through very simple boots, you increase the passive regeneration bonus to 8 per second, and the active bonus to 200 per use. While the challenges themselves will be distracting at best, their spiritual utility is invaluable.

Mantra of Salvation, uncommon among defensive skills due to its defensive nature, passively increases all resistances by 20% and increases dodge chance by 35% through a rune dexterity. Its active component additionally increases resistance by a short time, but should be used sparingly due to the already high cost of build resources.

To bolster their mobility options, Monks have the most responsive and fluid movement tool in the game, Power Dash. A charge-based skill on low cooldown, it will surely take you to the cursor location if there is no closed door between the starting point and the destination. With two charges stored by default, you can skip unfavorable fights, find the next pack, or simply increase your survivability with the Faster than the Wind rune.

This concludes our review. active skills, now let's look at passive.

Two passive skills support the bulk of this build's defenses. A staple in the passive monks' arsenal, Harmony fuels your All Resistance by 40% of 1 elemental resistance per piece of equipment (e.g. 100 fire resistance on boots will add 100 to your Fire resistance sheet and add 40 to your other resistances). A well-equipped Monk usually has secondary resistances in all equipment slots that can screw them up, greatly increasing his overall durability. While spreading the various resistances evenly across the cog will result in the highest level of resistance, try to match it properly with the second defensive passive, Waves of Light for Monk Sunwuko. As you become more comfortable with the build, you will learn how to kite and pull additional enemies or newly spawned bosses to effectively expand the benefits of Seize the Initiative.

When playing the VP at the beginning of the season progression, take the Knowledge of Death in your last slot of the passive cheat death available to the Monks. On a standard 60 second cooldown, this will prevent a deadly situation and restore 35% of your life and spirit. The 2 second immunity to damage and crowd control effects is a nice bonus on top. As you improve your character and feel comfortable losing this passive, you should alternate this slot with a valuable increase in Path of the Guardian evasion.

Changes: The guide has been tested and is valid for season 18, good luck to the nephalem.

Monk in Diablo 3 is a melee class. The monk's spirit is used as a resource for dealing crushing blows. Read our guide and watch the video.

The monk has no equal in the speed of blows, in a fraction of a second the monk is able to deliver a series of blows to the enemy. In the blink of an eye, a monk can jump out of a swarm of enemies, and deliver deadly blows from behind to the enemy's most vulnerable spots.

The main stats for the Monk class in Diablo 3.

Features are listed in order of importance. But, you always need to remember about the balance of damage and survivability. You should not make a Persian with super huge damage, moreover, he will die at the mere sight of the enemy.

  • Agility - increases the damage dealt by the hero (1 dexterity = 1% damage) and increases the chance to dodge attacks.
  • Vitality - the monk resists demons in close combat, receiving a lot of damage, survivability is one of the main characteristics for survival.
  • Resistance to all types of damage - survivability alone is not enough to survive in a deadly fight with demons. Resistance reduces damage taken.
  • Attack speed - the more speed, the more attacks per second you will inflict.
  • Critical damage - the probability of inflicting a critical hit.
  • Everything else is also good, but in addition to the above characteristics.

If you play not only Diablo3, as is often the case, then we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the ones in which our site provides services.

Well, here, I played from the very beginning, and the monk guide was written only for 1.0.8. However, it's for the best, as major changes have affected all Diablo 3 classes in 1.0.4 and 1.0.5.

The monk's guide is divided into several parts so as not to scare you with the amount of information. You should start studying it with the choice of the monk's talents (build), since some other aspects will depend on this, in particular equipment (clothes).

Monk build

In Diablo 3, we see a new build system that allows our monk to change talents without any penalties or additional retraining fees. It is not possible to determine which of them is better, but we can divide them into popular and others.

  • Monk's MP build is the most popular, and possibly the best build out there. Designed for high SM and deals only lightning damage.
  • SU Monk – The SU Monk build is perfect for maxing out the levels of cultivation and effectively farming legendaries.
  • Soon other monk builds will appear in the guide.

You can find out the gameplay features and equipment of each of the builds by clicking on the link, and we continue to study the general aspects of the game as a monk.

Items and weapons for a monk

If you don’t know what a monk’s gear should be, I would recommend that you first get acquainted with the stats and their features. You can do this in the article about monk stats.

In addition, in Diablo 3, not all things are the same, there is legendary equipment that, ideally, can be much better than any other, and there are many such equipment. Check out the best options and learn how to dress a monk.

As for the choice of weapons, this aspect is well described in an article called weapons for a monk.

Monk Companions

Companions in Diablo 3 are great at tanking, slowing, and controlling your enemies when equipped with certain weapons. In addition, they can be used simply to increase the search for magic items.

The monk has no special preferences for both the equipment of the companions and their role. Therefore, you can use the general guide on satellites.

Monk Guide | Diablo 3 guides and news.

To be honest, one of the most easily accessible components of a good character is his complete pumping, Diablo 3 is a game in which even a child will successfully bring his character to the last lvl. After all, even in death, you can safely replay any game difficulty (except for the hardcore mode, and I know few children who play it). In gaming communities, the question about leveling is often asked in the format: how to make leveling in Diablo 3 faster and more efficient? That is, here the question is rather not the complexity of the lesson itself, but the amount of time spent on it. By and large, in order not to torture yourself, you can resort to the option of ordering a paid character upgrade and not worry about it, but now let's look at the opposite, longer option.

To discuss an example of leveling diablo 3, we will try to analyze the full path that will take from the first to the last level in diablo 3 monk. So, it will also be a kind of diablo 3 monk guide for the passage.

Leveling a diablo 3 monk to level 30 should not cause any difficulties. The difficulty of this stage of the game, from the 1st to the 30th level, is called normal, from the 30th to the 50th level - a nightmare, and from the 50th to the 60th - it will, surprisingly, be hellish. However, in the first act, many players get stuck in the so-called inferno. This in no way indicates whether the monk is a weak class in diablo 3, inferno is just a kind of level. Many players easily go through the first act and, thinking that everything will be like this in the future, they forget that the character also needs to be improved. So let's use our diablo 3 monk guide to find out how to bring it all to mind, and what should be the diablo 3 monk build - hell is waiting for you!

Diablo 3 monk guide: how to get through hell as a monk

So, in order for a monk to feel confident in the heat of diablo 3, during the first act you need to achieve several important points in terms of equipment. Also important in the hell of diablo 3 is the build of the monk, which I will talk about a little later, now we will discuss the features of the characteristics. Resistance to all elements must be at least 700 points. The “absolute harmony” skill, which is your passive ability, which makes the resistance of all elements equal to the maximum, should help with this. Choose one of some elements and always take items that give a plus to its resistance. A strong weapon in diablo 3 will not be needed for a monk of hell, you just need to have something with 15 (or more) thousand damage. The restoration of life, however, will need a good one, somewhere around a thousand units per kick. You can also attach stones to your cannon for critical damage - it will also be important. Let's get back to the question, which build is suitable for a monk in diablo 3 heat?

Well, firstly, we take Thunderfists, which will give more high speed hits (and hence the recovery of HP, which is very good), we add “Slashing Wind” to them - it will help to crush the illusionists in the future. Additional skills we have are: "Blinding Flash", "Breath of Heaven", "Peace" and "Mantra of Condemnation". But which runes to use is up to you. After all, everyone chooses what he wants: someone is defense, and someone is DPS, etc. In general, you can conjure a little over this moment.

Diablo 3 Monk: Nightmarish and Infernal Leveling

Trading in Diablo 3

Continuing this diablo 3 monk guide, I would like to mention once again that we call lvls 30 to 50 nightmare levels. Here our monk monk will need agility items, try to collect as many of them as possible. As for weapons, as in the first levels, you should not worry (if you wish, you can even take a one-handed weapon and a shield).

In the future, you will have to collect not only dexterity, at level 50, to our diablo 3 monk, survivability will also be added. That is, now in the choice of things it will be necessary to give preference to both dexterity and vitality. It also makes sense to pay attention to dps in order to give out as much damage as possible (when playing on hardcore, on the contrary, it is best to have a lot of hp and good defense).

I hope your monk will become extraordinarily cool after leveling up, and you will be able to pretty much mock all possible bosses.

Deadly Monks in Diablo 3

After a few weeks of constant farming and grinding for a monk, a desire appeared to write a short guide on its leveling and features. In Diablo 3, monks have the most high level spiritual development, which allows them to concentrate energy in the body as efficiently as possible. In general, playing as a monk in diablo 3 is very fun and exciting, but I immediately warn you that there will not be time to afk for a second.

Class features

The main feature of a monk is the presence of a mantra, which he can use to strengthen himself or members of the group. In diablo 3, monk weapons are suitable for both melee and ranged attacks. It all depends on the choice of build and equipment. Using Diablo 3 gear to increase agility, a monk can easily increase the character's attack speed to 4 attacks per second. However, do not forget about survivability, as several simultaneous attacks of elite monsters can easily send a monk to the city. In Diablo 3, the leveling of monks is most often done by players who prefer to constantly be in the center of events, and not run behind the backs of allies like sorcerers.

Item for monks

In diablo 3, monks can use daibos and brass knuckles as weapons. Each type of weapon has its own characteristics, sockets and attack speed. In diablo 3, damage is based on bonuses to agility, critical strike, and critical effect chance. It is these characteristics that are the main ones when choosing a weapon, although you should not forget about LPH (life per hit), since almost all monk builds are based on this parameter. Dealing more than 30 thousand damage in diablo 3, the character can easily restore several thousand lives in one hit. Most often, such weapons cost about 50-70 million game currency. If necessary, I advise you to buy gold in Diablo 3, since only with such a weapon will there be a comfortable farm of the Inferno level.

In Diablo 3, Monk Items help not only increase the main stats, but also increase the speed of spirit regeneration, which is used for all hits and spells. Nevertheless, in Diablo 3, the leveling of a monk depends not only on the weapon, but also on the quality of the equipment worn. As a headdress, you can use spirit stones, which allow you to maximize the concentration of energy in the character's head. For melee combat, it is recommended to buy weapons for a monk in diablo 3 with a maximum bonus to dexterity, which will not only allow you to deal damage faster, but also increase the chance of dodging the character. In general, you can also use a daibo, but the price of a great two-hander most often ranges from 100 to 500 million. In Diablo 3, playing as a monk becomes much easier with a large number of resistance points to all types of damage that can be obtained from equipment and buffs.

Increasing Damage

Amount of damage = amount of life restored per hit. Remember this rule and never deviate from it when buying weapons at the auction. Having more than 100k damage in diablo 3, you can easily pass any act at the level of monsters 5+. In Diablo 3, leveling a monk with a high level of LPH is quite simple, as absorbing the damage of bosses and elite monsters becomes much easier.

First of all, the damage depends on the probability of a critical effect. In Diablo 3, the monk can get great crit chance bonuses from the following items: rings, amulets, gloves, shield, bracers, and helmets. Also, the crit chance can be increased using the Tornado skill, which can be triggered several times at once.

Now moving on to critical damage. You can increase critical damage with bonuses in weapons, rings, gloves and amulets.

Trading in Diablo 3

Next comes attack speed. To increase it, we are looking for bonuses in the following items: rings, gloves, amulets and weapons. You can buy gear in diablo 3 for both the monk and other classes at the auction. Also, if you have real money, you can buy things at the auction for money, although most often the prices there are very high.

The layout of a monk's equipment depends only on the budget, as some things with 3-4 nice affixes cost several tens of millions, or even more. Full list equipment and weapons can be viewed on the diablo 3 game sites.
