Lodz train timetable. Lodz: a new station for a new city life. Information on the station Kiev

Some 100-150 years ago, railway stations played a huge role in the life of cities - they were the gates and an indicator of the success of the country and the city. Therefore, they were designed as palaces - it was a matter of image. Then the era of railway transport was replaced by road transport, and after that the emphasis shifted to airports - the railway began to decline and degrade. In the United States, for example, out of 409,000 kilometers of track that existed in 1916, only 220,000 remain now. At 80% of them there is no passenger traffic, many stations were simply demolished.

But history has shown that humanity hastened to bury the railway. As with the tram, today the world is witnessing a railway renaissance and a rethinking of the role of cars in the life of cities and the country. There is a clear understanding that trains are the most efficient transport for long-distance daily travel, and bullet trains connect the country as well as airplanes. Stations once again play the role of entrance gates to the city.

The first train station in Łódź was opened in 1865 and connected the city with the Warsaw-Wastochna, Krakow-Glavny, Radom, Częstochowa and Tomaszów Mazowiecki stations. In 2011, the station was closed - the construction of a new complex began with the launch of trains underground. The new Łódź Fabryczna railway station was opened on December 11, 2016, along with the bus station and city hub.

Initially, the station was planned for high-speed trains on the Warsaw-Krakow route. But the project turned out to be expensive, as a result, electric trains and intercity trains were launched through the new tunnels:

There are 4 platforms in total:

Escalators and travolators lead upstairs:

Level -1: waiting rooms, catering, cash desks:

Now the station is frankly empty - they did everything with a big backlog in case. High-speed and comfortable connection with other cities should stimulate the flow of people and money.

The bus station is located on the same level. From there I left for Warsaw.

There are no frames or screening - the passage is free everywhere. Let's go to zero:

escalators, by the way, did not work only here

At the ends are the main entrances. On the one hand - entrances for taxis and personal vehicles:

From above, the overpass is made at street level:

On the other hand, there is a pedestrian square and a large tram hub:

Buses pass and stop here:

Although the main bus stops are located approximately in the center of the station. There is also a ramp down for intercity buses.

By the way, recently in Lodz they changed the navigation and route scheme. Beautiful, but I still could not build a route.

On the other parallel side, there is a cliff and a pedestrian bridge to the business center on the site of the old power plant. The passage was closed:

Everything is well made and well thought out. I liked the station even more than the station

Story:

RAILWAY STATION ŁODŹ KALISKA. The first idea to build a station appeared in 1862. It was then that on the territory annexed by Prussia, the Construction Committee was created railway from Wroclaw to Warsaw, who turned to the imperial authorities with a request to give consent to the construction of a branch. To no avail. And only in 1898, after 30 years of efforts of the main officials of the Kingdom of Poland, Tsar Nicholas II approved the plans for the construction of the Warsaw-Kalisz branch. The first train arrived at the railway station designed by Cheslav Domanevsky in 1902. The old station building worked until the 80s of the XX century, and in 1982 it was demolished. In 1994, the construction of a new facility was completed, the design of which refers to the old station in the style of the Secession. In the coming years, this station, serving almost 3 million passengers a year, is waiting for restructuring. According to the plans, the scope of the repair work includes, in particular: the restructuring of the outer part of the building, the main lobby, the waiting room and the railway ticket offices. A system of visual dynamic information will be installed at the station, the facility will also be brought into full compliance with the needs of people with disabilities.

In general, the train is charming: the sound of wheels, the flickering trees outside the window, the light clinking of a teaspoon and a glass holder evoke a special romantic mood.
