Khan first laid eyes on him when he stood with Lando Calrissian on one of the Permacrete landing platforms on Nar Shaddaa several years before joining the Rebel Alliance. And even then, the Corellian clearly saw not only what this battered old freighter was, but also what he could become later.

As a teenager in love, he could not take his eyes off. His pupils dilated, his jaw drooped down. Solo pulled himself together as quickly as possible until Lando figured out what he was thinking and turned away from the ship like old junk. But Calrissian was not a fool, and by then knew all the ways of the Khan. As one of the luckiest players on either side of Coruscant, he immediately recognized a bluff. "Fast car," Lando remarked with a twinkle in his eyes.

Khan had no doubts.

Even in those old days, Lando had something to envy, and to begin with, his exorbitant wealth. But luck had little to do with it. Lando didn't deserve such a ship. He could barely cope with the skimmer, let alone a fast as light, starship, which is more convenient for a couple of venerable pilots to fly. He was completely unworthy of such a flyer.

Khan never considered himself greedy or envious, but suddenly he wanted this ship more than anything else in his life. For many years he served and wandered across the Galaxy, took risks and lost friends, was loved and abandoned, studied at the Imperial Academy, deceived and himself became a victim of machinations ... Perhaps in this ship he saw a chance to start new life- a life in which there will finally be a place for constancy.

Writing circles around the ship, as if in orbit, Khan nurtured sinister designs. The old freighter, like a luminary, attracted him, as, without a doubt, he attracted everyone who flew on it before and put his hand to the contours of these mandibles, hull and other techno wonders on the skin. He even sucked in his scent through his nostrils.

Looking closely, the Corellian saw almost everywhere signs of attempts to save the ship from the ravages of time and space travel. Dents were repaired, cracks were filled with epoxatal, traces of ingrained combustion products on the skin were painted over. "Non-native" parts were attached by non-standard mountings, or even unprofessionally welded to the body. The freighter was rusty, covered in durastal patches, streaked with grease. He became a veteran even before he took possession of Lando at the whim of the sabacca shuffling card of fortune. But where and to whom he served, Khan did not know. Bandits, smugglers, pirates, mercenaries ... definitely all of them and beyond.

When Lando started the engine to check, Han's heart skipped a beat. A minute later, sitting at the control panel, listening to the measured rumble of sublight, laying a dashing turn and almost scaring Lando to death with this, Han already knew that this ship was his destiny. You can arrange for the Hutts to buy it for Khan, or even simply steal it if necessary. He will install a military-grade rectifier antenna and replace the light laser cannon with a quad. Builds a retractable rapid-fire blaster under your belly to fight back when escaping. And between the square mandibles he will put a rocket launcher ...

He had no idea that he would win the ship against Lando at cards. It certainly hadn't occurred to him that Calrissian would bluff.

Flying in a modified SoroSuub that he and Chuuya had borrowed from Lando, Han only grew even more infuriated in his longing for the freighter. He drew in his mind the adventures that he had been from the first day in this world. Once upon a time it dawned on the Corellian that he was so close to the ship from the very beginning that he did not even ask Lando when and under what circumstances the freighter got the name Millennium Falcon ...

Towards the end of Soli's shift, Kentt did nothing but lazy glance from the chronometer attached to the wall to the HoloSet news channel. Yesterday's shockball match between Kuat and Commenor ended in a draw, but space tramps, some Mandalorians, did not share something between themselves. Kentt, a lanky man who had settled with his family on Corellia and devoted ten years of his life to his current job at KIK on Orbital-7, sprawled in his chair, his soft hands behind his head and his legs crossed over the console, which was in his undivided possession. Behind the transparist dome that crowned the shimmering observation bay, a steady stream of fresh, not yet painted IT-1300 freighters moved - just off the assembly line. They were guided by a flock of orientation buoys that were subordinate to the station's cybernetic controller.

The IT model with a length of thirty-five meters and a carrying capacity of a hundred tons has been in production for less than a year, but has already established itself as a living classic. Designed with input from Narro Sinar, owner of Corellian Engineering's main shipbuilding competitor, the model was marketed as a cost-effective and easily modifiable alternative to IS's heavy-duty freighter series. Compared to most KIK starships, which no one would consider exquisite, the IT-1300 was distinguished by its peculiar functional style. The shape of the saucer made the ship unique, which made it possible to accommodate many different units, including a portable cockpit and sensor matrices. In its basic configuration, it was equipped with frontal mandrels and a new generation of electronics that controlled the powerful sublight engines and the ship's hyperdrive.

Kentt had lost count of the items that had passed him since the minute he stepped through the security turnstile of Station 7 at the start of his eight-hour shift, but the number was supposed to be twice that of the previous month. But even at such a rate of growth in production, ships were sold out so quickly that supply could not meet demand. Bringing his feet off the console to the floor, Kentt stretched his arms over his head and was about to yawn sweetly when the console emitted a sharp beep that instantly revived the operator. As Kentt scanned the multiple screens with reddened eyes, a young technician in a colorful overalls and a comlink headset rushed from the adjacent compartment.

History

Initially, the Millennium Falcon was a regular production cargo starship of the YT-1300 type, created in Korelia (not in Karelia, though, who knows) 60 years before the events of Episode IV A New Hope.

Due to their lightness, speed and versatility, ships of this type were very popular among smugglers, especially after the collapse of the Republic and the accession of the Galactic Empire.

At about 55 years old, the ship was won in a gamble by Lando Calrissian and, a little later, lost by him in the same game to the most famous owner of the ship - Han Solo.

Han Solo, along with his assistant, the Wookiee Chewbacca, made many changes to the design of the ship and began to actively work on it, transporting contraband.

In the end, in Solo and Chewbacca, stopping on the deserted Tatooine, they met customers at a bar: an old man, a boy and two droids.

Modifications

Millennium Falcon - Ship Outline

Han Solo and Lando Calrissian made many modifications to the Millennium Falcon device. Calrissian made secret smuggling bays for use by both him and Solo. Calrissian also greatly enhanced the ship's shields.

The Millennium Falcon was covered with duralloy armor in almost every section of the hull, which withstood a blaster hit even with downed shields. New shield generators were also installed on the Falcon to withstand laser hits that would have destroyed a regular YT-1300.

Solo modified the ship in such a way that almost all systems could be approached from the inside, and only four systems, if damaged, required repair from the outside.

The interior of the Falcon left much to be desired - mechanical debris of "all stripes" was scattered everywhere. The main "attraction" of the Falcon is the table with Dejarik, installed at the request of Chewbacca. The falcon often had to fly away in a hurry from the scene of the "incident." Thanks to his onboard computer, he could enter hyperspace in one minute, while most other ships required at least five. In addition, the upgraded engines were extremely powerful for a ship of this mass - this allowed it to fly at a speed of 1.5 times the speed of light (1.62 billion km / h).

Exploitation

For 60 years, the Millennium Falcon was a truck and a smuggling ship, but after meeting with Kenobi and Skywalker, the ship and its crew entered the Rebel Alliance.

After that, the ship was actively used by the rebels against the Empire and participated in all the key battles of the Original Star Wars trilogy, as well as in the events of Episode VII.

Making a ship for a movie

According to Star Wars creator George Lucas, the Millennium Falcon's design was inspired by a hamburger, while the cabin should look like an olive sticking to the side. The ship originally had a more elongated shape, but due to the resemblance to the ships from the science fiction television series Space: 1999, Lucas was asked to change the design.

Model of the ship for the movie "Star Wars. Episode V. The Empire Strikes Back ”was created in a hangar owned by Marcon Fabrications in Pembroke Dock, West Wales. After the completion of construction, it weighed 25 tons and could only move with the help of pneumatics.

For the filming of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, director JJ Abrams decided to build the Millennium Falcon spaceship in great detail. The ship was recreated on a 1: 1 scale, that is, in full size, and also fully equipped inside.

During the first training flight, Han has a desire to get this ship, and he was able to beat Calrissian in the big sabakku tournament on Bespin, and took the Millennium Falcon from him as a prize. Already under the current owner of the Millennium Falcon and its pilot, he glorified the speed record on the Kessel Arc. Has released the ninth version of this cool space starship. Each Falcon model differs in functionality and design of some details, the composition of minifigures changes, even the outer panels are transformed. Now they have become more mobile, smoother and perfectly connected to each other.

This set contains 1351 parts. The starship is composed primarily of dark and light gray parts. The body uses black printed elements, grilles, plastic wires, bright red and blue light bulbs.

Constructor includes 7 minifigures. Lando Caprissian in a bright yellow shirt with black prints on the front and back, black trousers on his legs. A double-sided gray-blue fabric cloak is draped over the top. The minifigure has two facial expressions, dark skin, and an interesting hairstyle. In the hands of two accessories - a blaster and a mace. Note that this is a new figurine for this set.

The next character is Chewbacca. He has a dark brown coat all over his torso and a well-detailed face. A ribbon with cartridges is slung over the shoulder. He holds a crossbow in his hand.

The third minifigure is Finn. He also has a dark complexion and two facial expressions. She is wearing a minifigure in a beige shirt and a beige vest, which has many printed pockets and work accessories. There is a belt with a plaque at the waist, blue trousers on the legs. A brown bag is slung over the minifigure's shoulder, and in his hand he holds a gray blaster.

Boolio is an exclusive figure in this set and a new character. He has a green alien head with an interesting muzzle. On the head and on the lower jaw, yellow horns. The figurine is dressed in a beige suit with a printed belt and buckles.

Then there are 3 droids: a yellow C-3PO with multi-colored printed wires on the torso and a helmet on the head, R2-O2, which consists of white, gray and blue elements and printed details on the torso, and little D-O white with green decorative details. By the way, the last two droids mentioned can be connected to each other.

The Millennium Falcon itself hasn't changed appearance, but it has become more perfect. Now this model has no visible gaps on the outer panels. Some panels are interconnected.

If we consider the ship in more detail, we note that there are round parts on the hull. For example, from the front, they are used to activate the firing of spring rockets, which are located under the front elongated panels. On the back of the case, the round parts have more decorative functions and are made in the form of lattices. On one of the side panels there is a circular antenna on a rotating unit. It can be rotated in any direction and even up, while the position is fixed.

On the other side of the hull is the capsule-shaped cockpit that is attached to the main aircraft. The cockpit has an elongated shape, the front part is transparent and made of flexible plastic. To fit inside the minifigure, the front of the cockpit must be detached. It has space for two minifigures, a lever and a printed control panel.

On the central part is a rotating rocket launcher with weapons. If necessary, the hatch under the rocket launcher can be opened and the minifigure can be placed in it.

To view the interior of the Millennium Falcon, the front rectangular panel is lifted and then extended. It is she who blocks the disclosure of the remaining panels, tk. overlaps them from above. Now you can open the other 5 panels in a circle.

There is enough space inside to accommodate several minifigures in different play areas. Interior details are made in a single colors- beige. There are comfortable chairs in the work area, control panels, storage for weapons and accessories, a bedroom with beds, a kitchen with a stove and cutlery.

Turning over the Falcon model, we see several small chassis that give the car stability. There is also another rocket launcher with 4 guns.

Those who are already familiar with the previous Millennium Falcon models will be able to compare them. The assembled starship measures nearly 14 cm high, 32 cm wide and 44 cm long. This is a great gift for kids who are into space and collect branded Star Wars figurines. The constructor can be combined with other play sets in the series.
