Seamless pipe gost 9940 81

Among the assortment of pipes offered by Energocontrol, there are products designed to solve a wide range of tasks. For example, these are seamless pipes that are resistant to corrosion and are designed for operation in less than ideal conditions. Now in order to find an assortment supplier stainless pipes made in accordance with GOST 9940-81, you do not have to "surf" the Internet, because on the company's website you can always find up-to-date information and find interesting offers.

Why is cooperation with Energocontrol LLC most preferable? Our company offers low prices and a wide range of products manufactured in accordance with international standards. Stainless seamless pipes can be purchased by both wholesale and retail customers. The presence of our own warehouses located on the territory of St. Petersburg and Moscow, as well as the possibility of delivery to any region of Russia - these are truly favorable conditions available only to a few suppliers.

GOST 9940-81 status

This standard applies to corrosion-resistant, seamless, hot-worked pipes. The wall thickness of the products varies from 3.5 to 32 mm, and the diameter is 57 to 325 mm. As for the length, it should not deviate more or less by more than 15 mm, although manufacturers often make products according to the parameters specified by the customer, but within the standard, with a multiplicity of 300 mm.

Hot-deformed pipes can be manufactured not only in accordance with GOST, but also in accordance with technical regulations. GOST 9940-81 is valid, and in the manufacture of products, any steel grades that fall under their standard can be used.

Application area

Cold-deformed pipe-rolling is endowed with greater strength, but hot-deformed pipe is characterized by plasticity and flexibility, and if the pipe is made of steel 20x23n18, this means one thing: the product is characterized by increased heat resistance, therefore, it can be used to create structures that will be constantly exposed to ultra-high temperatures. Hot-rolled pipes in accordance with GOST 9940-81, made from less heat-resistant grades steels, but not devoid of increased resistance to corrosion, can be used:

  1. In mechanical engineering, shipbuilding and aircraft construction. Hot-rolled pipe products are often used to manufacture elements of engines, cooling systems and other units, inside of which there is a high risk of corrosion, temperature and pressure drops.
  2. In the nuclear industry. Corrosion-resistant steel is especially in demand in this area, as well as rolled pipes made of such a material, which combines a whole list of positive properties. This is an increased resistance to aggressive environments, high strength characteristics and the absence of weld, which is very important, since it completely excludes the possibility of leakage of working solutions and other substances, which are often dangerous.
  3. Chemical industry. You can distill any substances through seamless hot-rolled pipes without fear of leaks and other force majeure.
  4. Energy and construction industry. If the heating system is created with the involvement of just such a pipe rolling, then there is no doubt about its reliability. Heat-resistant steel products are ideal for boiler construction high pressure, steam generators and other installations.
  5. Other sectors of the economy. These include: oil and gas production and processing of minerals, as well as food, light and processing industries.

Seamless products are made from steel 12X18H10T in accordance with GOST 9940-81. It applies to hot-deformed tubular products made from corrosion-resistant alloys for general purposes.

GOST 9940 stainless steel pipes are manufactured:

  • with a diameter (outer) from 57 to 325 mm;
  • with wall thickness from 3.5 to 32 mm;
  • standard maximum length from 3 to 8.5 m

In terms of manufacturing accuracy, pipes are produced with ordinary accuracy and with high accuracy. Other geometrical dimensions and physical and mechanical properties, which are described below, determined for pipes 12X18H10T GOST 9940 and other tolerances for wall thickness, diameter and curvature.

The same requirements are imposed on the chemical composition of the steel of seamless products of this standard as for those produced in accordance with GOST 9941. And their mass is calculated using the same formula. The requirements for pipe ends and surface are also identical. Products are manufactured in accordance with the submitted order, heat treated or without heat treatment and resistant to intergranular corrosion. At the request of the customer, pipes are subjected to the same tests as those produced in accordance with GOST 9941, and using similar methods and conditions for their implementation.

Here the only difference is that for hot-deformed pipes GOST 9940, their heat treatment is not a prerequisite for achieving the required physical and mechanical properties and conducting the necessary tests. After all, the method of manufacturing these products already presupposes the necessary heat treatment, which cannot be said about cold and heat-deformed products of GOST 9941.

Hot-deformed ones have greater flexibility and plasticity, but they are significantly inferior to cold- and heat-deformed ones in strength and resistance to physical stress exerted on them.

In addition, for hot-deformed pipes 12X18H10T with a ratio of diameter to wall thickness equal to or less than 8, a decrease in tear resistance by 2 kgf / mm2 (19.6 N / mm2) is allowed. Products of GOST 9941 must withstand the rated load regardless of the geometric parameters of their section. Only the yield point for hot-deformed pipes is the same - 22 kgf / mm2 (216 MPa). But this is due to the fact that the same stainless alloy is used for manufacturing - 12X18H10T.

Due to the greater strength, GOST 9941 pipes are made with smaller wall thicknesses and diameters than products of standard 9940. If we compare, for example, products with a diameter of 273, then cold and heat-deformed ones are produced with walls of 3-14 mm, and hot-deformed ones - 11-20 mm ... Accordingly, the areas of application of GOST 9941 and 9940 products are somewhat different. The first is used where high strength of the pipeline or product is needed with its relative lightness, and the second, when the flexibility and ductility of the pipe from which they are made is more important when installing and operating a stainless network or part.

This standard applies to seamless hot-worked corrosion-resistant steel pipes for general use.
