Has released the ninth version of this cool space starship. Each model of the Falcon differs in functionality and design of some details, the composition of minifigures changes, even the outer panels are transformed. Now they have become more mobile, smoother and perfectly connected to each other.

This set contains 1351 parts. The starship is composed primarily of dark and light gray parts. The body uses black printed elements, grilles, plastic wires, bright red and blue light bulbs.

Constructor includes 7 minifigures. Lando Caprissian in a bright yellow shirt with black prints on the front and back, black trousers on his legs. A double-sided gray-blue fabric cloak is draped over the top. The minifigure has two facial expressions, dark skin, and an interesting hairstyle. In the hands of two accessories - a blaster and a mace. Note that this is a new figurine for this set.

The next character is Chewbacca. He has a dark brown coat all over his torso and a well-detailed face. A ribbon with cartridges is slung over the shoulder. He holds a crossbow in his hand.

The third minifigure is Finn. He also has a dark complexion and two facial expressions. She is wearing a minifigure in a beige shirt and a beige vest with many printed pockets and work accessories. There is a belt with a plaque at the waist, blue trousers on the legs. A brown bag is slung over the minifigure's shoulder, and in his hand he holds a gray blaster.

Boolio is an exclusive figure in this set and a new character. He has a green alien head with an interesting muzzle. On the head and on the lower jaw, yellow horns. The figurine is dressed in a beige suit with a printed belt and buckles.

Then there are 3 droids: a yellow C-3PO with multi-colored printed wires on the torso and a helmet on the head, R2-O2, which consists of white, gray and blue elements and printed details on the torso, and little D-O white with green decorative details. By the way, the last two droids mentioned can be connected to each other.

The Millennium Falcon itself hasn't changed appearance, but it has become more perfect. Now this model has no visible gaps on the outer panels. Some panels are interconnected.

If we consider the ship in more detail, we note that there are round parts on the hull. For example, at the front, they are used to activate the firing of spring rockets, which are located under the front elongated panels. On the back of the case, the round parts perform more decorative functions and are made in the form of lattices. On one of the side panels there is a circular antenna on a rotating unit. It can be rotated in any direction and even up, while the position is fixed.

On the other side of the hull is the capsule-shaped cockpit that is attached to the main aircraft. The cockpit has an elongated shape, the front part is transparent and made of flexible plastic. To fit inside the minifigure, the front of the cockpit must be detached. It has space for two minifigures, a lever and a printed control panel.

On the central part is a rotating rocket launcher with weapons. If necessary, the hatch under the rocket launcher can be opened and a minifigure can be placed in it.

To view the interior of the Millennium Falcon, the front rectangular panel is lifted and then extended. It is she who blocks the disclosure of the remaining panels, tk. overlaps them from above. Now you can open the other 5 panels in a circle.

There is enough space inside to accommodate several minifigures in different play areas. Interior details are made in a single colors- beige. There are comfortable chairs in the work area, control panels, storage for weapons and accessories, a bedroom with beds, a kitchen with a stove and cutlery.

Turning over the Falcon model, we see several small chassis that give the car stability. There is also another rocket launcher with 4 guns.

Those who are already familiar with the previous Millennium Falcon models will be able to compare them. The assembled starship measures nearly 14 cm high, 32 cm wide and 44 cm long. This is a great gift for kids who are into space and collect branded Star Wars figurines. The constructor can be combined with other play sets in the series.

The names that Han Solo used to refer to his ship:

  • Regina Galas
  • Shadow Bird
  • Blood Princess
  • Ring of Victory
  • Millennium Falcon

Modified by Han and Chewbacca to your liking. They made a lot of changes in the ship's design, the main of which is the military-grade hyperdrive, which allows reaching one and a half light speeds.

The YT-1300 ship was spotted during the Clone Wars. In the future, Lando Calrissian becomes the owner of a ship of the same class, having won him in the sabacc. He did not know how to fly and hired Han to teach him. During the first training flight, Han has a desire to get this ship, and he was able to beat Calrissian in the big sabacca tournament on Bespin, and took the Millennium Falcon from him as a prize. Already under the current owner of the Millennium Falcon and its pilot, he glorified the speed record on the Kessel Arc. Han Solo, as the pilot of this ship, was engaged in smuggling (especially for this he had to make a hidden compartment under the deck), participated in the attack on Ylesia, helped the rebels in the assault on the first Death Star, participated in the collision with the Ssi-ruuk near the planet Bakura and in the battle at Balancer station, as well as other battles. When the ship was piloted by Lando Calrissian, the freighter was involved in the attack on the second Death Star and in the defense of Nar Shaddaa.

In anticipation of the release of Episode VII of the Star Wars saga, the portal presents a description of what is probably the most famous spaceship.

Millennium Falcon (MilleniumFalcon) Is a light cargo ship created by the Corelian Engineering Corporation long ago in a distant galaxy in the Star Wars universe. Was won by gambling by Han Solo and became one of the main ships of the Rebel Alliance.

History

Initially, the Millennium Falcon was a regular production cargo starship of the YT-1300 type, created in Korelia (not in Karelia, though, who knows) 60 years before the events of Episode IV A New Hope.

Due to their lightness, speed and versatility, ships of this type were very popular among smugglers, especially after the collapse of the Republic and the accession of the Galactic Empire.

At about 55 years of age, the ship was won in a gamble by Lando Calrissian and, a little later, lost by him in the same game to the most famous owner of the ship - Han Solo.

Han Solo, along with his assistant, the Wookiee Chewbacca, made many changes to the design of the ship and began to actively work on it, transporting contraband.

In the end, in Solo and Chewbacca, stopping on the deserted Tatooine, they met customers at a bar: an old man, a boy and two droids.

Modifications

Millennium Falcon - Ship Outline

Han Solo and Lando Calrissian made many modifications to the Millennium Falcon device. Calrissian made secret smuggling bays for use by both him and Solo. Calrissian also greatly enhanced the ship's shields.

The Millennium Falcon was covered with duralloy armor in almost every section of the hull, which withstood a blaster hit even with downed shields. New shield generators were also installed on the Falcon to withstand laser hits that would have destroyed a regular YT-1300.

Solo modified the ship in such a way that almost all systems could be approached from the inside, and only four systems, if damaged, required repair from the outside.

The interior of the Falcon left much to be desired - mechanical debris of "all stripes" was scattered everywhere. The main "attraction" of the Falcon is the table with Dejarik, installed at the request of Chewbacca. The falcon often had to fly away in a hurry from the scene of the "incident." Thanks to his on-board computer, he could enter hyperspace in one minute, while most other ships required at least five. In addition, the upgraded engines were extremely powerful for a ship of this mass - this allowed it to fly at a speed of 1.5 times the speed of light (1.62 billion km / h).

Exploitation

For 60 years, the Millennium Falcon was a truck and a smuggling ship, but after meeting with Kenobi and Skywalker, the ship and its crew entered the Rebel Alliance.

After that, the ship was actively used by the rebels against the Empire and participated in all the key battles of the Original Star Wars trilogy, as well as in the events of Episode VII.

Making a ship for a movie

According to Star Wars creator George Lucas, the Millennium Falcon's design was inspired by a hamburger, while the cabin should look like an olive sticking to the side. The ship originally had a more elongated shape, but due to the resemblance to the ships from the science fiction television series Space: 1999, Lucas was asked to change the design.

Model of the ship for the movie "Star Wars. Episode V. The Empire Strikes Back ”was created in a hangar owned by Marcon Fabrications in Pembroke Dock, West Wales. After the completion of construction, it weighed 25 tons and could only move with the help of pneumatics.

For the filming of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, director JJ Abrams made the decision to build the Millennium Falcon spaceship in great detail. The ship was recreated on a 1: 1 scale, that is, in full size, and also fully equipped inside.

Interesting Facts

The Millennium Falcon briefly appears in Episode III "Revenge of the Sith" - at the moment when the ship with the rescued Chancellor lands on Coruscant, the Falcon also sits nearby.

According to the creators of the series FireFly, their ship is an ideological copy of the Falcon.

SpaceX's family of transport rockets is called the Falcon. The company does not hide that it was named after the Millennium Falcon.

The number of books, videos, games and series of toys in which the Millennium Falcon appears goes to infinity.

Developed by Corellian Engineering Corporation (CEC), the heavily modified YT-1300 is rugged, modular, and is listed as the second fastest vessel in the world. Star Wars canonical.

Millennium falcon first appears in Star Wars(1977) and then in The Star Wars Holiday Special (1978), The Empire Strikes Back (1980), Return of the Jedi (1983) Revenge of the Sith (2005), The Force Awakening (2015), The last jedi(2017), and Solo: A Star Wars Story(2018). Besides, Falcon appears in various star Wars an expanded universe of materials, including books, comics and games; James Luceno has an affair with Millennium falcon focuses on the title ship. He also appears in the 2014 animated film Lego Movie in Lego form, Billy Dee Williams and Anthony Daniels reprising their roles as Lando Calrissian and C-3PO, and Keith Ferguson Voicing Han Solo.

Origin and design

The ship originally had a more elongated appearance, but the similarity of this design to the Eagle transports in space: 1999 prompted Lucas to change Falcons design c. The original model has been modified, re-scaled, and used as Princess Leia's ship, Tantive IV... ModelMaker Joe Johnston had about four weeks to redesign falcons and Lucas Johnston's only suggestion was to "think of a flying saucer." Johnston doesn't want to produce a "main flying saucer," so he created a cockpit offset, front cargo jaws, and a rear engine slot. The design was simple enough to create in a window for four weeks. Johnston named the production of the new falcons design of one of his most intense projects.

The sound of the ship passing through hyperspace comes from two tracks of engine noise in the McDonnell Douglas DC-9, with one track slightly out of sync with the other to introduce a phasing effect. To this end, sound engineer Ben Bert added the hum of cooling fans to the motion control of the rig at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM).

Models and Kits

Visually, Millennium Falcon was represented by several models of both external and internal sets. For Star Wars A partial outer set was built and the set is dressed as Hangar 94 and the Death Star Hangar. Apart from the functional chassis, an additional support lifted structure and was disguised as a fuel line. The internal set included the starboard side of the ring corridor, gangway, cockpit access tunnel, gun turret ladder, caches, and forward establishments. The cockpit was built as a separate set that could be rocked when the ship was to be shaken. Several inconsistencies exist between the inner and outer set, the angle of the cockpit access tunnel being the most conspicuous.

Effect Models for Star Wars corresponds to the construction of the outer set. The base model was 5 feet long and detailed with various kits. The ship was presented with a matte painting when Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) sees it for the first time, showing the full top surface. For the 1997 "Special Edition", the digital model replaces the multi-shot effect model, and is used in a new shot. falcons taking off from the hangar 94.

For The Empire Strikes Back, a new outer set was built. In the spring of 1979, Marcon Falsifications, a heavy engineering firm that served the UK petrochemical and petroleum industries, was hired to build a movable full-scale exterior model capable of "moving as if it were about to take off." Built in secret under the project code name Magic Roundabout The company leased the 1930s West Sunderland seaplane hangar at Pembroke Dock, West Wales. The model, which over three months to build, weighed over 25 long tons (25 tonnes), measured 65 feet (20 m) in diameter and 20 feet (6.1 m) in height, and used compressed air to guide the spacer up to 1.5 inches (38 mm) height hover movement around the dial. It was then taken apart and sent to Elstree Studios, Hertfordshire, for filming. Today, the Pembroke Dock Museum has an exhibition about the project.

Along with the full-size layout in Sokol, a new miniature model was created for Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back to allow ILM to shoot more difficult in-flight rolls and ropes that were not possible with the five-foot model. This model was able to be gimballed, allowing ILM to simulate very complex maneuvers as the ship attempted to outrun the Imperial Tie-Fighters during an asteroid field escape scene from the film. New model which measures about 32 inches in length, had a number of surface features that differ from the five-foot model, including updated chassis and various surface greeblies. Model 32 "was version Millennium Falcon most portrayed in toys, model kits and promotional materials for Star Wars the universe before the release The Force awakens the model has been reused for. Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.

As in Star Wars, scores have been repositioned around scores of ships. The only significant design change was to add a chassis where there was a camouflaged fuel line in Star Wars... Included in this set were the port side that gave the given seven landing gears. The interior set has been slightly refitted from A new hope and featured a sliding cockpit door, a larger cargo hold, an additional corridor to port, and an equipment number. Two new interior kits have been created that are not shown to connect to the rest of the set: the top hatch that Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams uses) to rescue Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), and the compartment where Luke lies on his bunk.

5 feet long (1.5 m) effects from the model Star Wars was modified to reflect the additional chassis, and several new models were built, including one about the size of a quarter of a US dollar. For 1997 Special Edition The CGI model replaced the approach and landing effects model for Cloud City.

No new models or kits have been created for Return of the Jedi... Some of the full-scale ships were used to quickly change a scene from the film, in which several board characters Sokolov in a sandstorm on Tatooine. In the scene when Khan exacts Lando's promise not to harm falcon, then falcon represented by the background of the painting. Also in the matte painting of the entire hangar.

Internal and external kits were discarded after filming at Return of the Jedi ended. The effect models have been retained by Lucasfilm and some have been exhibited from time to time.

On June 3, 2014, TMZ confirmed that Falcon back to Star Wars: The Force Awakens when she leaked a photo from a set of the movie, showing a full-blown version falcons are under construction. Effects shots falcons appear in the trailer for The Force awakens released on November 28, 2014. This version of the ship is a digital recreation of the original 1977 5 foot model, with additional detailing reflecting the passage of time. The most noticeable change is the rectangular sensor array above the top case, which replaces the circular platter from the first three films.

Description

Han Solo won Millennium falcons by Lando Calrissian in card game"Sabakk" a few years before the events of the film New hope... IN Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guinness) and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) charter a ship at the Mos Eisley buffet to deliver them, C-3PO (Anthony Daniels), R2-D2 (Kenny Baker), and the stolen Death Star plans Alderaan. When Falcon captured by the Death Star, the group hide themselves in a smuggling compartment built into the floor to avoid detection during a search of the ship. Solo later collects his payment for transporting them to the rebel's hidden bases and leaves under bitter circumstances, but returns to help Luke destroy the Death Star.

Individual pilots Falcon, with Chewbacca, Leia and C-3PO on board to elude the Imperial Starfleet in The empire strikes back in which they take refuge in Cloud City, where Darth Vader (David Prowse / James Earl Jones) captures Solo. Lando Calrissian helps the others escape and, at the end of the movie, he travels to Falcon to track down Solo and his captor, Jabba the Hutt. Calrissian dignitaries again falcons during the climax Return of the Jedi, with Nien Nunb as co-pilot to destroy the second Death Star. Before the second Death Star collapses, LANDO accidentally damages the ship by hitting a circular pickup with a rectenna dish on a random pipe or chain in the second Death Star. Landau and others still are successful in destroying the Galactic Empire.

IN Star Wars: The Force wakes up, set about 30 years after Return of the Jedi, then falcon is in the possession of a scrap dealer named Unkar Plutt on the desert planet Jakku, having been abducted from Solo and Chewbacca a few years earlier. Scavenger Rey (Daisy Ridley) and former stormtrooper Finn (Boyega) steal Falcon to avoid being attacked by the first order, being targeted for having the BB-8 droid in their possession. During the chase sequence, the Falcon demonstrated an atmospheric performance of 60 degrees of RPM, and 90 degrees of roll rate per second. They are hijacked by a smuggling cargo ship, which turns out to be piloted by Solo and Chewbacca, who reclaim themselves falcon for their own. Forced to run into Sokol Ambushed by the parties to whom Solo is mired in debt, Solo reluctantly agrees to help Rey and the Finn return BB-8 to the resistance. After Rei is captured by the first order, Solo agrees to take Finn in the Falcon to the first order in the new Starkiller base planet, which has been transformed into the next generation "Death Star" - by attempting a risky maneuver to bypass the planet to defend against hyperspace escape in its atmosphere. When Solo was killed by his son, Ben Solo, now known as Kylo Ren-Rei essentially inherits Falcon fleeing the ruined Starkiller with the injured Finn and Chewbacca. Rey later uses the newly collected map to travel to Ahch-To, the site of the first Jedi Temple, to make contact with the long-lost Luke Skywalker while traveling to Sokol at Chewbacca and R2-D2.

Falcon reappears in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, also on Ahch-To with Rey and Chewbacca. Later in the film, Chewbacca and Rey take falcon on the planet Crait, where the resistance is under first-order attack. Falcon loses a dish sensor for the third time on Crait, after being shot off by a TIE fighter, but still manages to single-handedly take out most of the planet's 1st order fighters while Luke distracts Kylo Ren. After the battle, surviving resistance personnel leave Crait on board. Sokolov .

Kessel Run

In the original film, Solo boasts that Falcon done Kessel Run in "less than twelve parsecs." Since parseque is a unit of distance, not time, various explanations have been provided. In the fourth draft of the script, Kenobi "reacts to Solo's foolish attempt to impress them with blatant misinformation." Lucas ruled out to be incorrect in 1977, stating that Han had modified "the navigation system to travel through hyperspace in the shortest possible distance." On the film's DVD audio commentary, Lucas also explained that in Star Wars universe, traveling through hyperspace requires careful navigation to avoid stars, planets, asteroids and other obstacles, and because long-distance travel cannot be performed in a straight line, the "fast" ship is the one that can build the "most direct path" thus traveling the shortest distance.

In film Solo: A Star Wars Story The Solo Kessel Run is depicted in detail, providing an explanation of the "twelve" bragging dog. Solo must do a lot of calculated jumps to avoid crew kills. After inserting the memory module of the damaged L3 droid Lando into the navigation of the ship, the Solo is able to receive the "shortcut" (which is dangerously close to the black hole). Chewbacca points to the actual distance closer to 13 parsecs, but Solo insists, "Not if you round up," implying that the statement "less than twelve parsecs" is slightly exaggerated.

Possession

Falcon has been featured many times in the franchise, and his ownership and crew have changed several times already.

  • Before Star Wars, then falcon was in the possession of Lando Calrissian. He lost it to Han Solo to pay off his gambling debt. This is depicted in Solo: A Star Wars Story as well as Lando droid integration L3-37 to the ship's computer.
  • After the events The empire strikes back, Leia, Chewbacca and Lando take over falcons after the hibernation of Solo in carbonite and the capture of the Empire and
