How to set up wow. WWII: interface, addons, settings, graphics and system requirements. Poll: Addons - your opinion

The setup starts with graphics. The most optimal screen resolution would be 1280×1024 or higher. This screen size should be set because at a small resolution the text will be seen worse, besides, the resolution has almost no significant effect on .

Next come shadows and textures. Be extremely careful with them, as they reduce quite a lot. Set the textures to 16 bits instead of 32, and turn off the shadows completely, because if you have an average computer, then it will not be possible to play with shadows turned on if, for example, you find yourself in a crowd of people.

Set spell detail level to medium. At a low level of detail, it is very difficult to notice abilities and special spells. Without noticing it, you can die while standing in some kind of cloud that is simply not displayed. Of course, this will reduce the frame rate, but by configuring everything correctly, you will stabilize WoW settings.

Leave a check mark above the " texture projection ". This is necessary so that when casting the Flame Pillar spell, the radius of action is shown on the ground. If the checkbox is off, then the radius will not be shown and you will have to randomly poke the spell. Also, set the range to a minimum, because you don’t need to look far to play a dungeon or arena, but it’s never superfluous. The rest is customizable to your taste, but it's better to leave it as is.

Audio setup begins with enabling voice chat. If you're doing random raids, you won't need it, but you certainly don't need automatic voice activation of the microphone. Set a hotkey so that you can speak into the microphone.

Also, if you are a fan of listening to music during the game, then turn off the game music, and turn the WoW sounds down. Quiet sound will not muffle the music and will allow you to hear everything that happens around: the sound of the battle, replicas, warnings, etc. Sound quality also greatly affects the performance of the game.

The last point is for more experienced players. allow you to customize the game to suit your needs and requirements. Each needs to be configured separately. You can’t write much here, since there is a huge variety, but I advise you to check the box above the line “ Use outdated modifications ". This is done so that some have been updated, not updated, but still continue to function. This completes the basic game setup. I advise you to look into the rubric and look through the modifications that are useful for you -.

This week's topic is modifications.

Mods, also called addons or UI (user interface) mods, are a collection of code and graphics that can be integrated into your World of Warcraft client for various purposes, such as changing the style of the user interface, changing the way information is presented, or otherwise interaction with the game. Mods are created by regular players who want to customize something to their needs or optimize the gameplay.

Most often, players use addons that allow you to change the location of user interface elements (such as portrait frames, minimap and control panels) or show useful information, such as the amount of damage dealt or health healed in a raid or dungeon. The fact that so many players have fun creating addons will allow you to find a suitable mod for almost any whim with a high probability. And if you don’t find it, there is always the opportunity to try to create it yourself (of course, for this you need to more or less understand programming).

While we are working hard to ensure that the World of Warcraft user interface contains everything you need to play, some players find the use of addons quite useful. Someone uses only one or two modifications, and for someone, even a couple of dozens is not enough!

So, we turn to those who ate a dog on the use of addons. What advice do you, the custodians of all the near-modification knowledge, have for beginners who are just starting to “try the water” trying to slightly change their game interface? What can you offer to players who have not yet installed any mods to make their first experience successful?

If you haven't worked with any mods for World of Warcraft, we advise you to read the topic on installing modifications on our forum, which is maintained by the players. You can discuss mods, learn how to make them, or ask other players for help in the UI and macros forum section. And if you'd like to create your own mod, be sure to read Blizzard's UI mod policy first.

Poll: Addons - your opinion

Some use mods to change the user interface in the game. Analytical players use them to parse game data or perform calculations. Those who are chasing the optimization of game performance install addons that make it easier to use other addons. And, of course, there are those who do not bother with them at all.

This week's question is: "What do you use mods for?"

I've published a number of articles that talk about getting started in WoW. If you do not know how to start playing, then I recommend that you read these materials: everything from downloading the game to installing, configuring and solving problems. So:

Download WoW

Article about how and where. It's no secret that finding a client for the game is quite difficult. The article gives advice on where it is better to download the client, how to adapt an unsuitable client to play on official servers, and similar questions. I did not bypass security issues, for example, a question regarding keyloggers in clients. I would be grateful if you share a link to this article with your friends.

Installing WoW

What should be done after we have downloaded the game? That's right - install. Do not know how - this is described in another small note. Described basic principles installation, as well as a couple of practical tips. In principle, installing Blizzard games is always easy and pleasant: everything is done on an intuitive level. Know - press the buttons =)

WoW setup

Alternative article about Setting up the game is an optional step. But by properly setting up the game, you can make your life much easier. Tips for setting up graphics, sound and add-ons cannot be called a step-by-step guide. But after reading the article, you will understand where you need to move and what settings to give preference to.

Problems with WoW

And finally, a note was published on how to solve difficulties in the game? Problems with graphics and launching the game, inability to install a patch or complete a quest. All these problems are considered in the note, as well as ways to solve them. Of course, it is impossible to foresee everything, but after reading the post, you can easily solve the main problems yourself.

So, have you successfully downloaded, installed and configured the game? Got rid of problems? Well - then forward to adventure!

The standard game interface in Blizzard's WoW is simple and inconvenient. Many players are faced with this problem, it can be expressed in different ways. But also, players who decide to change the standard interface for themselves face another problem - where to start and what should the interface be like?

First you need to figure out what interface should be. First of all, convenient, secondly, informative, thirdly (but not mandatory) - beautiful. It's no secret that the standard interface is not suited for raids or PvP - it's not convenient to track various effects, follow a group, or track various abilities.

For convenience, you can pick up a piece of paper and a pencil, then try to imagine how the interface should look convenient for you, then draw it on paper, but rather not draw, but make schematic sketches. Here are panels with damaging single-target abilities, here is AoE, here are bags, there is a map, here the necessary effects will appear and the like. This will be the blueprint for what you are going to do. Difficult? Then you can cut abilities from screenshots and other panels, then place them in Paint and see what happens.

The next step is to find and download the necessary addons. They are usually searched for on Curse. On the plus side, if you register on the site, you can download a special client. What is the client for? It's simple and convenient when the next addition to WoW comes out, all your addons become outdated, it takes a long time to update each one manually, and by logging into the client you will update all your addons with a couple of clicks. The second plus is that the site provides various modifications not only for WoW. Well, other pluses will no longer be of interest to you.

It is worth noting that you do not need to download all the addons in a row and install them. If you do this, then when you enter the game you will most likely find natural minced meat. Addons should be downloaded one at a time, then remove unnecessary additions to the addon, install the rest, go into the game and configure them. If you install additions to it that you need from the addon you don’t need, your list of modifications will become ugly large and inconvenient.

How to install an addon? First you need to download it, then remove it from the archive, filter out everything superfluous, leave only the addon and the necessary additions to it, then find your WoW folder and follow the path World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns, then move the addon there, then go to game and in the character menu, click the "Modifications" button, select a character from the list and tick off which addons to connect to him, then go into the game and configure the addon. Addons are removed using the same method, but you don’t need to reset its settings, just go to the World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns folder and delete the folders with the addon from there.

If you need to disable the addon, just open the menu in the game and uncheck the checkbox in the modifications, then click "Apply".

At the second stage, many people have 1000 questions: “Where? Which? How?". Not every person will have time for you to explain what addons are responsible for what. The Curse site in the add-ons section for WoW made a sorting of add-ons especially for this, however, in English. If it’s really tight, then you can use various online translators.

It is important to know that there are many modifications and their analogues, so all of the following are not the only addons. There are many others that suit you - you will have to think for yourself, now you can even find a video guide for each addon, or in text format, do not be afraid of English language- an online translator is always at hand.

Designed an interface? Now you need to clear / move the standard panels on the screen - these are the panels on which your abilities are located, chat, menu bar, bags, radar, character portrait, portrait of your target and so on. The Dominos addon with its additions can help us with this. The addon allows you to move any panels anywhere, reduce or increase the number of panels with abilities, reduce the size of the panels, move the chat, radar, cast bars, increase the distance between the buttons (or decrease), etc. This first addon can help you create a convenient location and size of panels, and their number.

It is very important to place the panels so that all of your abilities, character portraits, and your target are in the same area. And also leave room for effects. Firstly, this way they take up less space on the screen, secondly, it is much more convenient, especially if you click on any abilities with the mouse, and thirdly, it is convenient to monitor the state of ability rollback, follow the target, the character. All this in one place, you should not strain your eyes and constantly move your gaze.

You have already arranged the panels in a convenient way. Next, you should pay attention to the panels of the raid group or the usual one. The standard WoW UI gives some customization, but it's not ideal for most players - it takes up too much space and doesn't track any effects on the raid. The problem can be solved using the Grid addon (or for example Healbot Continued), it will allow you to reduce / increase the size of the raid frames to the desired size, select the necessary effects that the addon will track, marks on the raid frames, etc. Seeing your raid is always important and can tell a lot during a fight.

Next, let's pay attention to the portrait of your character and the portrait of your goal, and maybe the goal of your goal, etc. Perhaps it is not convenient to look at, or less informative. If so, then you can install the PitBull Unit Frames addon, which is a very difficult addon to set up, but the results are very good.

The next step is an addon that helps you keep track of the necessary effects on the character and on the target. The best and most convenient, in my important opinion, is Power Auras Classic - the addon is very easy to set up and convenient, and besides, it is also in Russian. It will help you transfer any effect to the right place, whether it be a buff or a debuff, on you or on the target, or the target of your target. Not only place, but also make it the right size, choose a picture and animation, timer or sound. Here, as they say, what the soul lies more.

The next step could be the DBM addon or its analogues (for example, for Big Wigs raiders
may seem more convenient) a good choice, both for raiders and dungeon crawlers, and for those who like to go to battlegrounds. The addon shows in the raid all the abilities and cooldowns of the abilities of the boss, on the BG - how much is left before capturing the point, who took the flag, etc. Easy to set up, allows you to move the tracking anywhere, ads in any color you want and the sound to run out of the void zone, you can put your favorite track (for 3 minutes).

An equally important modification can be Recount or Scada, the modification shows you how much damage you or your participants have dealt, how much health has been restored or damage has been absorbed.

If you like hunting rare monsters or collecting treasures - Handy Notes will be your choice, if specifically about WoD, then Handy Notes Draenor Treasures. This addon with its addition will show you where all the treasures are buried and where the enemy with the toy appears. Also, an addition to it can be NPC Scan, which will show the icon and put a mark on it if there is a rare monster near you.

Here I will give a short list of other modifications that may be useful to you:

- Bagnon combines all bags into one, there is also a setting for the bank;
- Master Plan modification created for the garrison and associates, allows you to see more, collect rewards for tasks faster;
- Auctioneer (or Auctionator) for those who spend a lot of time at the auction, it will not work out quickly;
- Tidy Plates changes the appearance of standard enemy bars, often you can't click on the desired enemy health bar and quickly press Tab, then this addon is for you;
- Sexy Map will change the default skin of the radar;
- Spell Flash highlights abilities when they are not on cooldown, its other modifications specifically for classes can be a replacement (example Bittens Spell Flash DK for death knights);
- Button Timers shows the cooldown of abilities in the form of bars on the screen;
- Raid Achievement Do you like to complete achievements in dungeons and raids, but can't always keep track of whether the achievement failed or not? This addon will make your life easier;
- Gladius for arenas and battlegrounds, shows strips of resources and health of enemies, effects on them, rollback of trinkets, etc.;
- Epic Music Player love music, here is an addon for you;
- Battleground Targets will help to highlight the target on the BG or RBG;
- Pet Journal Enhanced for lovers of pet fights;
- and many others.

Also, do not forget that there are many addons that are designed for certain classes or specializations, roles in the raid and the group. It is worth recalling that each addon must be installed one by one, remove unnecessary add-ons, configure, and only then install the next one. It is also worth mentioning that each of your characters (as well as his spec) requires a different interface, so if you set up an interface for your Enhancement shaman, it does not mean at all that it is suitable for his other specialization, and even more so for your other character.

There are also a bunch of different assemblies that I do not recommend using, the interface is an individual matter, what suits one may not necessarily suit another, and the range of interests in the game may be different. When the visual part is ready, just in case, write down a list of all the modifications and additions that you use. It's better to do it in the form:

Character 1:
1) Addon 1:
- Supplement 1 to addon 1;
- Supplement 2 to addon 1;
2) Addon 2;
3) Addon 3;

Character 2:
1) Addon 1:
- Supplement 1 to addon 1;
- Supplement 2 to addon 1;

2) Addon 2;
3) Addon 3, etc.

This can make life easier for you in the future, for example, when you change your PC or reinstall the system, it is better to store a notebook in online resources, for example, in the mail or in in social networks. You can also specify what this or that modification is responsible for.

The third step on the way to creating your interface will be macros, binds, key remapping. It depends on your keyboard and mouse, many keyboards now have a number of additional programmable buttons, and they can also be located on the mouse. If you're having trouble figuring out how best to remap keys, you can search the internet for articles and watch videos. Perhaps after that you will go to the store for a new monitor, keyboard or processor.

Well, the transition to the last stage is addictive. Do not think that you will get used to the new interface in a couple of hours, old habits will make themselves felt - your eye is looking in the wrong direction, you are pressing the wrong key. This is the most painful stage after you make your own interface.

Three dangerous enemies will stand in your way, the first boss is “Too lazy to figure it out”, the second one is “Fuck it, nothing works” and the third one “I need to farm, not invent interfaces”. Tactics for the first boss - be patient and a thermos of coffee, for the second one - try another day, for the third boss there is no tactic - if you don’t want it yourself, no one will do it for you.

The cult game from Blizzard - World of Warcraft, has long been loved by millions of players around the world. A huge world, many monsters, bosses, unique quests and dozens of character classes - this cannot leave any fan of MMORPG games indifferent.

Visualization in WOW

One of the most important aspects of the game for beginner Warcraft players is the design. appearance working screen. Yes, it is in WWII that the interface plays a big role in understanding the mechanics of the game and for a quick infusion into game world.

To be honest, the default interface offered to players is extremely inconvenient. Too many convenient things are missing, and their arrangement on the screen leaves much to be desired. Of course, this is not critical, but still, starting a long epic in World of Warcraft, you should be concerned about creating the most comfortable conditions for pumping characters.

Creating a WOW User Interface

What should be a real WWII 3 3 5a game interface? The answer to this question is given based on the needs of the player, as well as the goal of the game.

If a gamer intends to conquer raids as part of large parties of players, then mods for this style must be installed. By analogy, the PVP mode is also used - there are many addons that show various effects and help in combat.

In addition, special WOW interface panels can also be called important, which will display the locations of mobs, resources, quest assistants, and much more. Fortunately, on the Internet you can find any addon that will make the interface in WWII clear and convenient.

Search for addons for World of Warcraft

To date, there are many Internet resources, which are flooded with hundreds of various add-ons to simplify the gameplay.

Immediately you need to make a reservation that you should not download all the add-ons for the WWII interface. It is likely that only a small part of them will be needed. And an overabundance of installed addons can greatly reduce free space on the screen.

It should also be taken into account World version of Warcraft, because when you try to install addons for the "WWII Legion" interface on some other interface, for example, Wrath of the Lich King, critical error and the client will stop functioning.

How to install addons in World of Warcraft

The procedure for installing the addon is quite simple and takes place in several stages:

  • First you need to download the addon.
  • After downloading, the archive must be unpacked.
  • Copy the unpacked files to the AddOns directory, which is located in the game folder (example is World of Warcraft/Interface/AddOns).
  • Activate the selected addon for the WWII interface by going to the game client. To do this, select the "Modifications" item in the menu and mark the add-ons that will be used in the game.

Best World of Warcraft addons

So that you don't have to bother looking for the best addons, below is a list of the most popular addons that make it as easy as possible game process in WOW.

Maps and quests.

  • Atlas. This addon opens all underground locations. And in combination with AtlasQuest, it is simply irreplaceable, since in addition to cards, all quests that can be obtained in a particular dungeon are opened.
  • Cartographer. With the help of this addon for maps, you can easily navigate in the places of character pumping.
  • Mappy. Allows you to convert the mini-map, fully customizing it for yourself.
  • Quest Clicks. Expanded quest panel on the game screen. Makes it easier to complete a task.
  • QuestHelper. Highlights accepted quests on the map, which greatly simplifies their completion.
  • World Quest List. A regularly updated addon that contains all the quests that exist in the game.

Professions and things.

  • AtlasLoot Enhanced. Incredibly useful addon that contains full list items and things in WOW.
  • Fishing Buddy. Great addon for fishing. Contains information about all fishing locations.
  • Ackis Recipe List. This is a whole complex of add-ons, revealing recipes for all professions, with the necessary ingredients.
  • Gatherer. Useful for artisans addon that opens on the map the location of the resources collected for the profession.
  • Recipe Radar. Makes it easier to find the right recipes in the game world.

Interface.

  • Prat. One of the best game chat addons. Allows you to customize it exclusively for yourself and your requirements.
  • postal. Advanced mail addon. Makes it easier to receive and send emails.
  • onebag. The best inventory addon. Consolidates all of the character's bags into one, improving the handling of collected items.
  • Arkinventory. A useful interface addon that conveniently transforms the player's bags by sorting items by functionality and combining them.
  • MoveAnything. With it, you can merge, move, scale, change the color and brightness of any panel on the game's home screen.

Combat addons.

  • MilkScrollingBattleText. Displays on the screen the damage dealt and received, the amount of healed HP, critical hits.
  • FlyPlateBuffs. Conveniently suggests what positive or negative actions hang over the characters, as well as the duration of their action.
  • Quartz. A very handy addon for the spell panel.
  • OmniCC. Shows the cooldown of all player spells, as well as reusable items.

Of course, this is not a complete set of useful addons. But playing with them will become much easier and more enjoyable. Another important question for some users who like to take screenshots or stream their gameplay is how to remove the interface in WWII.

This is done elementarily, using the Alt + Z keys assigned by default. Pressing this combination again will return the interface to its original position.

World of Warcraft system requirements

As for a comfortable game of World of Warcraft, even owners of not very powerful machines will be able to play without lags and freezes. The only negative is that the WWII interface will have to be minimized for weak PCs, but in general this will not greatly affect the quality of the game.

So the requirements for operating system- from Windows 7 to Windows 10, with a reservation for a 64-bit system.

A 4-core processor is also suitable, but for a comfortable game it is better to use an Intel i7-4770.

An important aspect is the graphics component, but here the developers of the game allowed the owners of devices with an integrated Intel video card to play. Let the game use the minimum characteristics, but nevertheless you can play comfortably enough. If the device is equipped with a discrete graphics card, then NVidia GeForce is preferred, starting with the GTX 520 2GB series. At maximum settings, the game will run with a 4GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 or analog AMD Radeon R9 280, or even higher.

Equally important is the availability of stock random access memory. In principle, 4Gb of RAM is enough, but for the best gaming parameters, you should have 8Gb. Well, do not forget about the free space on your hard drive. Must be reserved for the game at least 70 GB.

And of course, you need a stable internet connection.
