Draw a lake with a rocky shore in stages. Landscape watercolor for beginners “On Baikal”: stages of work. How to draw nature with a pencil step by step

Among the mountain ranges, near the hills and rocks

The lake-sea spread,

Pearl of Siberia - ancient Baikal,

Whose waves are roaring in the open space ...

V. Baranova

Once we made a long road trip across Russia.

One of the most beautiful places on our way was Lake Baikal.

Almost in the center of Eurasia there is a narrow blue crescent - the most ancient (20-25 million years) and deep-sea (maximum depth 1637 m) Lake Baikal. In terms of area, Baikal is equal to Belgium with its almost 10 million population.

In order to realize the immensity of the Baikal water body, imagine that the Angara, which annually takes out 60.9 km3 of water from the lake, would need 387 years of continuous work to drain its bowl.

My big trip around Russia in search of my city: On Baikal

“On Baikal”, M. Trushnikova, watercolor, 2012

So, this is what the landscape itself looked like.

In it, I was attracted by a tree and a fishing boat on the shore.

Landscape watercolor for beginners “On Baikal”: stages of work

1. I am drawing a landscape with a pencil.

In it I find the main masses, sizes of objects, without drawing details. It is important to mark where everything is, to create a strong composition.

2. Blue color.

I start painting with shades of blue. This is the sky, water, shady parts of trees.
Blue is part of the shadow side, so it's everywhere.

The sky in the upper part is more blue, for it I take a mixture of blue fts and ultramarine. For the bottom - lighter shades of blue.

I stretch these colors, and while the layer is wet, I choose with a brush the place of white clouds.

The water reflects the sky. Therefore, it has the same color, but darker.

Prescribing the shadows on the trees and falling, I figure out what they are in terms of lightness, I select the appropriate tone.

3. A layer of yellow.

Yellow as part of the illuminated side is also present on all objects. I prescribe them the illuminated part of the tree crown.

I paint the distant trees with ocher. This allows you to create a more complex shade of color and visually remove these trees into the distance.

4. Greens.

Now I'm starting to prescribe shades of green. Partially this layer overlaps the shades of blue and yellow laid earlier.
I watch the change in the shade of green near and far. Closer it is brighter, darker, away - lighter, grayer.

When writing greenery, I change the principle of writing on different trees.

Far I write with broad strokes, a flat brush. The front tree was also originally painted by him. But in the future, I change the brush to an elastic round one in order to prescribe smaller foliage.

5. Detailing.

With a thin brush I prescribe a tree trunk and a boat.
I add pink spots of flowers in the foreground.

I add tree branches with a thin brush:

6. Completion.

I prescribe the foreground more carefully: grass, flowers, pebbles.
I rest a little and check myself - what else needs to be generalized or detailed. Ready!

“The Taming of Watercolor”

Natural landscapes are always very beautiful. They enchant, give peace and tranquility. This is especially true of water bodies, because in many cultures it is not without reason that the element of water is associated with calmness and wisdom. To convey the beauty of such natural landscapes, we will learn how to draw a lake.

Mountain lakes - draw a stunning landscape

The combination of mountains striving for the sky, forests and lakes can be safely called a masterpiece of mother nature. And if you want to display this beauty on paper, you should learn how to draw a lake in stages.

First of all, we mark several lines. separating the foot of the mountains, the wooded part and the shore of the lake.

Then we draw the tops of coniferous trees. The forest will be divided into three sections, two of which will be a little closer to the viewer, and one - a little further.

After that, we basely outline the mountain range.

Now we draw mountains with many peaks, passes, slopes. These will be bare rocks, so the lines will be sharp, rather angular.

Then we will erase all auxiliary lines.

And let's add colors to our picture. The forest, as expected, will be dark green, the mountains - gray. Do not forget that in the lake there should be a reflection of the tops of trees, and mountains, and the sky.

That's all - the picture is completed.

Fishing on the lake

Although you can admire the lakes for hours, people often used them not only as an object of aesthetic pleasure, but also for more practical, domestic needs. For example, for catching fish. This is what we will demonstrate when we figure out how to draw a lake with a pencil.

Let's do an outline first. The painting will be done in an Asian style, so that the mountains will be separated from each other, in a soft triangular shape. The boat will also be traditional for China - with a characteristic canopy.

Then we will paint the mountains green and draw a red sun rising from behind their peaks.

After that, we will add colors to all the remaining elements of the picture - the water will be azure blue, the stones in the water will be light brown. We will make the sail on the boat scarlet, and we will dress the rowing person in a blue and white robe.

Lake with a pier - draw with the children

If you and your children have traveled to the village at least once, then most likely you are familiar with fishing on the lake. To refresh these pleasant memories, we will figure out how to draw a lake for children.

Let's start with a light pencil sketch. The viewer will, as it were, stand on the pier, so in the foreground in the center we will draw this same pier, and a little further - a lake and mounds on the sides.

Then we will outline and add some details to the picture: trees on the hills, four fluffy clouds, large stones visible from the water.

Let's move on to coloring - paints, felt-tip pens or pencils are perfect for this. The water should be blue, the wooden jetty should be brown, the hills and rocks should be black, and the trees should be green. It is necessary to paint very carefully so as not to get out of the contour.

Everything, the drawing is ready - you and the baby did a great job.

We draw rural landscapes

We have already familiarized ourselves with how to draw a forest lake, but now we will continue the theme of a lake in the village. Now small neat rural houses, trees and a boat on a leash will be added to our landscape.

As in the previous sections, we will start with a pencil sketch. A fragment of a lake with a flat shore, a boat tied to a peg driven on the shore and a beautiful large tree with a spreading crown will come to the fore. And in the background you will see houses - small, one-story.

Then color upper part pictures - greenery, sky, houses. It is better to paint the foliage of a tree and greenery in the background not with one shade of green, but with several - this way the picture will look much brighter, livelier.

After that, let's deal with the bottom part. The water will be a deep blue, the trunk of the tree will be warm brown, and the sail will be orange, almost red. Pay attention to the special canopy on the boat - it protects the fishermen from the scorching midday sun.

Everything, we coped with the task.

Catch a lesson on drawing nature :)

You've probably noticed that (depending on the lighting) clouds don't always look the same. If the light falls on the clouds from behind the viewer, then the clouds look more voluminous, illuminated, like pieces of cotton wool.

If the light breaks through to the viewer from behind the clouds, the edges appear brighter and whiter, while the middle is darker. Let's try to draw clouds in watercolor in this light.

We will not immediately wet the entire sheet of paper. With a wide brush, apply strokes of blue paint. This will be the sky. Where a clean dry leaf remains, there will be the edges of the clouds.

Paint the middle with a darker color. On the palette, you need to mix blue paint with black. And again - paint over inner part clouds, not reaching the edge, so that there are bright edges illuminated by the sun from the inside.

With wide strokes horizontally paint over the sea. Leave a light strip on the horizon line. This can be done by leaving a small strip unpainted, and then gently blur the edges with water. Or (until the watercolor on the clouds has dried yet) wipe the strip with a napkin or a clean, semi-dry brush, removing excess color.

Glare on the water is applied with white gouache after the watercolor has dried or drawn in advance with white chalk or a candle.

Draw the sky with pastel. And not just the sky - the clouds! For dry art pastels, it is better to use special paper sold in any art store.

For the upper part of the sky, take the lightest chalk, add touches of pink.

Let's grind the crayons to get a smooth transition of colors. A little lower, lighten the sky with the lightest, almost white yellow color and rub the crayons again.

Let's sketch with light lines the approximate location of the cumulus clouds and start drawing the sky under the upper clouds.

Rub it with your finger and add some light yellow crayon to indicate the light rays.

With the lightest pink, we will begin to stroke the top layer of feather clouds.

It is not worth rubbing strongly, just a little bit to show the light from under them, the main strokes with light pink chalk should remain.

The background is already almost drawn, so we begin to draw cumulus clouds.

The color is slightly different due to different lighting. Let's add volume to the upper part of the cloud and some yellow color in the light part. We continue to draw the next part of the clouds.

Add a little to the light left edge white color. In the foreground, paint in blue a heavy rain cloud mass, distributing the volume with lighter and darker colors. In blue, you can add a little pink.

It is not at all necessary to draw a bird, but if you want, then let it fly in the bottomless expanse of the sky above huge clouds.

STEP 1 - hatching

I'm using a free hold hand position when creating crosshatching. I find only the weight of a pencil on paper will create pencil strokes that are light and consistent.

I am hatching 3 layers of graphite onto my paper using F lead. The first layer is placed horizontally on the surface, the next two layers are diagonal.

STEP 2 - mixing

Using a chamois wrapped around the index finger, I blend the graphite smooth. Chamois with firm, and even pressure. It may take several passes with chamois to create a smooth, even tone. Be sure to blend around the edges of the drawing area, as well as the overlapping buildings, trees, and horizon areas. It's much easier to erase than to add a missing section later.

Do not touch the surface of the paper with your fingers. It is during this stage of the mixing process that smudges or fingerprints will magically appear. If they appear, they are very difficult to fix (unless they ended up in a cloud formation) and many times I just have to start over!

I'll add 2 more layers of hatching with 2N lead and blend with chamois again. This creates a nice smooth finish. I trim the edges of the drawing using a t-square ruler and a plastic eraser.

STEP 3 - LIFTING FROM THE CLOUD

I use a mars plastic eraser with a chisel edge and erase my clouds in the sky. For light thin clouds I use Blu-so and just drag it across the entire surface.

STEP 4 - DETAILS

Use the 2H pencil to lead to a layer in the dark areas next to the snow-white tops of the clouds. Tortillion is used to fit in the work and the details. By blending, lifting, removing and overlaying more graphite, clouds appear on paper.

I soften the clouds using Blu-tacks. To make more dramatic clouds darker than the sky background. This allows the white wadded clouds to be more fully formed. Keep in mind that if the focus of the drawing is clouds, they shouldn't compete with the rest of the landscape. They should be subtle and gently lead the viewer's eye across the stage. I usually use beams of light and hints of clouds in most of my landscapes.

I usually spend 5-8 hours just painting sky and cloud areas. PATIENCE plays a key role in creating a smooth palate.

Once you've mastered the basic technique of creating soft tones and general cloud formation, the sky is the limit for all the possibilities and changes you can create. Every minute... every hour... every day... every season... the sky changes its mood and design, giving us an unlimited source of inspiration for our landscapes.

How to draw a sunset with a pencil step by step

Step one. In any landscape, you first need to draw a horizon line. Having done this, we will add a small setting sun and a silhouette of a ship on the water.
Step two. Let's outline each of the drawn elements, add a display of the ship on the water.
Step three. Strongly shade the sails, as well as an arbitrary wavy line draw growing grass on the near background.
Step four. Let's add more small waves to the water and display tall grass. Delete extra lines with an eraser.

We return to the new document that we created and begin to make blanks for future leaves. To prepare this tutorial, I created 4 different brushes:

1) the densest foliage
2) less leaves
3) 3 leaves
4) single sheet

The first and main brush we will use to create the main array of the future tree. The second and third are more for correcting the shape and creating additional details. The fourth is to add individual leaves to the crown so that it does not look monotonous.

There are many descriptions on the Internet of how brushes are created. Highlights - the size of the document is up to 1024 * 1024 pixels, you need to draw on a white background in black. The black color in the brush will be the most opaque, white on the contrary - transparent. All shades of gray will have different transparency depending on the proximity to black or white.

So, we draw leaves. It all depends on your imagination and preferences. I got something abstract, a hybrid of birch and maple with an admixture of poplar.

After all the brushes are drawn, you need to add them to the brush set. Go to the "Edit" menu and click "Define Brush Preset" there. In the dialog that appears, select the name of the brush and voila, you're done. Our brush appeared in a set, the dialog box of which is called by pressing the F5 key

We add in turn all the drawn brushes and proceed directly to the creation of a unique landscape.

First you need to outline and draw a tree trunk with branches on a separate layer. I made the background dirty gray, the wood gray-brown. But at this stage it doesn't matter.

Next, create a layer below the tree and set up the brushes.
In the Brushes window, we are interested in three main groups:
1) Shape Dynamics - shape dynamics
2) Scattering - Scattering
3) Color Dynamics - color dynamics

Now in order:
1) Shape Dynamics is responsible for changing the size of the brush while painting. The main Size Jitter parameter is best left at zero. Set control to Pen Pressure. As a result, strong pressure will leave the largest leaves, weak - smaller. The second is to leave Angle Jitter at zero as well. Control - Direction. When drawing, the direction of the stroke will be taken into account and the brush will rotate according to the direction. This helps to somewhat avoid the same areas in the image. The rest of this tab can be left untouched.

2) Scattering speaks for itself - how far the image will appear from the center of the brush. The Scatter parameter is measured as a percentage. The more - the farther from the center the brush draws. Here you need to try to expose yourself different meanings and understand how you are more comfortable and how more suitable for the drawing. In my case it was about 200%. It is also better to set the control to Pen Pressure. Together with the Shape Dynamics settings, when pressed hard, we will have large leaves at a greater distance from each other.

3) Color dynamics is responsible for variation colors brushes from the selected color in the palette. Required parameters:
- Hue Jitter - how much the hue of the brush will deviate on the color scale. The higher the percentage, the stronger the color will go away from the selected one. In our case, 4-5% will be enough so that the color of the leaves does not vary greatly and shades that are completely unnecessary to us do not appear.
- Saturation Jitter - saturation variations. I did not touch, but you can try to experiment.
- Brightness Jitter - how much the brightness of the brush can deviate towards white and black colors. In my case, 10-12%.

Now that the basic parameters are sorted out, you can practice a little to understand how the brushes behave, and then start painting the foliage. Choose a base color and go.

1) With a few strokes of the first brush, I marked the crown behind the trunk.

2) Using a brush number 2 marked the lower branches.

3) Create a new layer above the trunk. With brushes 1-3 I paint the crown in the foreground.

4) At this point, I changed the hue of the brush to a lighter tone. The crown has become thicker, both in the foreground and in the background.

5) Let's add some volume to our tree if you haven't already done so.

6) Let's add some saturation to the background.

7) Let's add yellowish leaves for mood.

8) Let's paint the grass in the foreground and tweak the back a little (the brush, again, it's more convenient to do it yourself, as I did).

9) And at the last stage, I made a gradient fill on the sky, corrected the color and brightness of some layers, painted on a couple of clouds and with a hard square brush, with the Scattering parameter turned on, added strokes on top of the crown so that the work did not look boring and monotonous.

So, our work is ready. In half an hour, a rather cute and pleasing landscape was born. Of these 30 minutes, your obedient servant spent two-thirds of the time preparing the illustrations for this lesson.
This is certainly not a masterpiece, but I pursued another goal - to show how effective work with brushes can be, if you approach the problem you are solving wisely. The case can not be limited to four brushes, it does not have to be tree foliage or grass. It can be any arrays - bubbles, waves on the water, flocks of insects in the air, clouds and much more.
But also do not forget that this method is not a panacea and only serves certain purposes in your work. The main thing is to skillfully use it when it is really needed. Don't forget to experiment, read tutorials, learn from your peers and develop your own unique style.

How to draw the sea with a pencil step by step

Step one. Let's sketch the horizon line, and these figures will indicate the location of the seagull birds.
Step two. Now we draw the outlines of the birds themselves.

Step three. Let's draw each bird in detail.

Step four. Let's add hatching in order to create the appearance of waves. You might even hear the sound of the surf.

Don't forget to color!

How to draw nature with a pencil step by step

Step one. We immediately select a small pond with banks with lines, and draw several trees on the banks with the same lines. A few circles in the water will serve to turn into ducks.
Step two. At the bottom we draw tall grass, the circles slowly turn into birds. With a thick line, carefully outline the edges of the coast.
Step three. In this step, switch all attention to the background behind the horizon line. Let's draw clouds there.
Step four. Now draw small waves and shadows on the water, make the grass thicker, and shade the background.
Step five. Draw the rest of the clouds in the sky and the missing places in the trees and the ground, and then carefully finish the drawing by shading the ducks.

How to draw a forest with a pencil step by step

Step one. Let's start with a simple one: draw a horizon line, and draw a path with two vertical lines.
Step two. On the sides of the invented path we draw tree trunks, large and small.
Step three. Let's draw the trunks higher, and sketch their bottoms with a pencil. We will also add some grass at the foot of the trunks.
Sha fourth. Finally, draw the tops with branches, add shadows.
Step five.
Step six.

How to draw a lake with a pencil step by step

Step one. Draw a few lines with a pencil, select the shape for the lake in the center.
Step two. Let's draw the land around the lake with all the vegetation and a small display in the water.
Step three. Let's make the vegetation more extensive and detailed, adjust the contours of the mountains in the background.
Step four. Completely shade the entire area, sketch the surface of the water so that the color tone is different.

How to draw a river with a pencil step by step

Step one. We take a pencil in hand and draw a forest landscape. Let's start by drawing wavy lines, which will then make a beautiful river. The other, horizontal line is the horizon line.
Step two. Since our river is lucky to live in a forest, there should be many trees around it. We draw them, a lot of trunks of all sizes.
Step three. The trunks are there, but the leaves are not visible. We fix it - we draw clouds on the trunks, later they will get the necessary green hat. There are also two small waterfalls near our river, we don’t forget them either.
Step four. Large shading draw various shadows. This is a forest, and there will be many of them. We draw lines on the hand with the same hatching, indicating the direction of the flow.
Step five. As is customary with us at the last step, we remove all the clouds of greenery that did not fit, all the fallen leaves, in general, we remove everything unnecessary and adjust the drawing to our liking.

How to draw a waterfall with a pencil step by step

Step one.

Let's outline in our drawing all the necessary levels of relief: the height of the mountain and the lowland. At the top we will show tree trunks. Denote the position of large stones in the water. And draw a couple of lines indicating the direction of the flow.

Step two.

The waterfall hides the protruding rocks. But between the body of water we see large boulders. Below we add a couple more stones. Let's draw two thresholds for our waterfall.

Step three.

In this step, our picture is already more clearly visible. Branches appeared on the trunks of the trees. Mountain, boulders and stones took shape. In a powerful stream of a waterfall, we will draw several straight lines directed downwards. And at the place where the water fell - foam.

Step Four

Now you need to carefully consider the image of the waterfall and determine the location of the shadows. With the help of short, hatched lines we will finish our drawing. Here, volume will appear at the protruding parts of the mountain, chiaroscuro at the stones, lines showing the movement of water. And between the trees in the background, a forest peeps through. Here is our landscape.

How to draw waves with a pencil step by step

Step one. First, we draw such a zigzag shape with a pencil, and inside it is a pentagon for the surfer's body.
Step two. With neat large shading we give our wave shape and direction of movement. Special accuracy is not needed, just draw the desired lines.
Step three. In the center of the wave we draw a surfer on the board. Near it we make the wave more detailed and darker.
Step four. More shadows for the wave, especially near the person. On the left side we draw steam, which appears as a result of the movement of the wave.
Step five. With an eraser we erase the lines that served as a sketch for the athlete, remove unnecessary lines, make the wave more realistic and dynamic.

How to draw a field with a pencil step by step

Step one. Let's mark the horizon line. Let's draw clouds. Step two. Let's fix the clouds again. Step three. Draw several distant objects on the horizon. Step four. Let's add herbs to the foreground. Closer to us, it is larger, and the one that is farther naturally looks small. Can be colored.

How to draw mountains with a pencil step by step

Step one. With curved lines we outline the contours of the hills, and with one long horizontal line we divide the sheet in half, create a horizon.
Step two. We detail all the ascents and descents, large rock transitions and junctions of each mountain.
Step three. Let's draw the clouds, make the lines of the tops more visible and thick. Hatching will add shadows.
Step four. Now let's get down to shading. We will shade each descent, shade the areas closed from the sun, correct the clouds.
This is roughly how it should work. How do you like this landscape? Write your comments, what do you think about this drawing, and show your work.

Drawing Lotus lake. Master class for children 5-8 years old step by step with a photo

Author: Natalya Aleksandrovna Ermakova, Lecturer, Municipal Budgetary educational institution additional education children "Children's Art School named after A. A. Bolshakov", the city of Velikiye Luki, Pskov region.

Description: the master class is intended for children 5-8 years old and their parents, educators, teachers of additional education and creative people.
Purpose: interior decoration, gift, drawing for exhibitions and competitions.
Target: lotus lake scenery drawing
Tasks:
- based on a discussion with the children of the story about lotuses, create a composition of the lake landscape;
- to consolidate the ability to compose a landscape drawing on a paper format, the ability to work with color;
- cultivate perseverance, patience, accuracy in work.
To draw a landscape, we need materials and tools:
- sheet of A3 paper
- watercolor
- simple pencil, eraser, brushes
- glass for water
- cloth for brushes

Master class progress:

We start drawing the landscape from the horizon line.

Then we draw lines of clouds.

And we start drawing lotus flowers, we will draw several large lotuses in the foreground of the work.

We start drawing a lotus with a shamrock, then draw other petals.

Then the second lotus.

We draw long stalks of a lotus and leaves of the foreground.

We add flowers and leaves in the background of the work, at a distance from us, the farther the plant is from us, the smaller it will be.

Before starting work with paints, watercolor must be moistened with water, drop by drop in each color. Then you need to slightly clean up the work, erase the pencil lines so that they are barely noticeable. Watercolor paint is transparent and sonorous, loves cleanliness.
We start drawing from the sky, outline the clouds and the horizon line in blue, then use a clean brush with water to blur the paint to blue.

Then we decorate the surface of the lotus lake with light green color.

Then, with strokes of dark green color, draw leaves from the horizon line, the closer to us, the larger strokes.

Between the leaves we introduce strokes of blue (water).

We circle the contours of the lotus petals in red.

Then the leaves of the foreground, outline the outline with a dark green color and blur with clean water, making a smooth transition from dark to light tone.

Inside the leaves, add strokes of juicy green.

Now we make the lotus petals more tender, blur the contours with water.

Then on the horizon line we increase the blue color of the sky.

And the final part of the work on the landscape, carefully draw the petals of the lotuses in the foreground. We draw shadows on the petals with light shades of yellow and red. We draw veins in the leaves.

These are the fields of lotuses obtained by children 5-6 years old.

Where the road goes into the fields
Lake blue shawl.
Pink charm, like the dawn,
The lotus flower beckons everyone.
Lotus is a color of mysterious antiquity,
It burns like a lamp.
Ancient ages sends greetings
Keeps the secrets of the East.
Let it be on those whose blind hand
This wonderful gift will break,
Through spaces and through centuries
A terrible punishment will fall.
Come ashore and into the pink paradise
Plunge with all your soul
Delicate flower, have pity, do not pluck,
As a deity, bow down!

The lake is home to fish, crabs and even Loch Ness creatures. Serene and quiet, there are no complaints about it, it is also great area for those who, in hot weather, like to celebrate something and take water baths, and even drunk. In hot weather the most popular place. In case of complete exhaustion by the sun, it gives vigor and strength to people. Takes under the water liked and drunken people.
It differs from the sea, river and other water species manifestations of life on earth, in comparison with other water resources, it is characterized by calm and peaceful. Living beings that live there calmly, quiet and calm, and even come into contact only with fishing rods, hooks, nets and worms, immediately avoid people. For people who differ in financial position and location, the level of attendance is low, because there are no similar signs with the sea, there are no servants and it is dirty.
It is more known where there is a convenient position, that is, everywhere.

Let's figure out how to draw a lake with a pencil in stages:
Step one. Draw a few lines with a pencil, in the center you need to highlight a figure or shape for the lake.

Step two. Draw the ground and some vegetation around the outline of the lake, and the reflection in the water.

Step three. You will make the vegetation even brighter, more magnificent, draw the details, correct the outlines of the mountains in the background.
